Hey,

I used to have a Lenovo Y50-70 Gaming laptop with the following specs:
Intel Core i5-4200H 2.8 GHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M
But the laptop has some issues now and wont start.

Can I possibly build a Gaming PC with a similar performance under 20-30k? I have a keyboard, Monitor and other accessories.

Thanks!

PS I dont need it for gaming per se, but editing and video rendering basically. Adobe After Effects, premiere pro, illustrator etc.

An 860m is roughly the equivalent of a desktop 750ti or 950. That's about 10k at the cheapest, and half your budget. You can try and look for ready made PCs without a GPU and add one later

Thanks for the response. Would you rather recommend going for a new motherboard for the same laptop at roughly 20k?
Any suggestion for a good PC? As I've never been a PC user.

As a rough estimate if you get used things:
Case =3-4k
Processor = 15-20k
Mobo = 6-8k
Psu = 10-15k
Ram = 8-16k
Storage = 9k

And if you play one game specifically then there are sites that can help you build accordingly

Depends on your use? Gaming, designing, etc ? And if it's gaming what game specifically?

Hey, thanks again. Designing, mostly. After Effects, Premiere Pro. No games. Just Fifa every now and then!

A 950 is more than enough for FIFA although I don't have a very good idea of how it is at designing. I've seen some friends use the intel shared GPU for premier tho in which case a 950 is pretty decent
