Hey everyone,

Ok heres my specs:
Core2Duo E6750 | XFX 8800GTX Extreme Edition | 4GB Corsair XMS2 | Intel DG33FB| 600w CoolerMaster

My pc freezes randomly while gaming. Doesnt occur otherwise, only when I game. Now, it doesnt happen with everygame. Some games (bioshock, ut3 etc) work just fine, and never freeze.

When i play crysis, Dirt and some others they freeze everytime about 10-15 mins into the game. The screen will freeze on whatever image the game is showing, and soemtimes the sound will continue, sometimes itll loop at that point. I cant go back to windows, have to restart pc. Itll do this on xp or vista, doesnt matter.

i have read various posts online about these "freezes" with NO SOLUTION. I have tried all sorts of drivers, changed ram, etc etc, no luck. Some games work forever, some freeze after few mins. Can anyone help me out?

do these things... they might solve your problem

1. try installing everest and keep your eyes on temps while gaming
2. check your PSU and power connections on your GTX
3. try that card on some other PC

I doubt its the card doing that to you, but yeah do what beginner said.

Also I'd like to know...how long has this been happening to you?

Did it happen on your last windows installation?

thanks for the responses guys. I also have a feeling it could be the psu, but i will try everything that has been mentioned above.

My normal temps are 75-80 on idle, and under load it goes to 95-97. (c) I know this seems high, but still nothing that id assume would casue a problem. All fans are working fine, and i leave the side of my casing open with the ac on and still hit these temps. I cant check the temps when the games freeze as im not able to return back to windows to check.

I will test another card in my system, and also check my card in a diff system, change psu, and get back to you guys. Thanks for now.

btw- great site you guys have here. Ill be posting here more often.

it must be virus or threats in ur computer , or newfolder.exe virus can be found in ur pc. if u r sure that ur computer is out of virus , threats , newfolder.exe ...... then it can be the heated problem , always keep the casing of ur pc open.
