32 Or 64bit

HI there people.
i just saw there was a topic related to xp vs vista in gaming performance.
i am having buggy problems with xp 32 bit.
i usually get dont send errors with Gears of War and sometimes svchost.exe is conflicting with my sound card drivers.
SO i am considering to move to something like vista.

ok my question is.
MY rig can support 64bit so changing from xp 32 to xp64 bit will give me any performance boost application or game wise????
and one more question.

is 64bit better than 32bit?
and if i go towards vista what should i get the 32bit or 64bt version.?
and wats x64 and x86??

it could be a virus... performance wise both are almost equal... shifting to 64 bit OS is not worth it unless u have 4+ GB of RAM

so wats the point for microsoft for releasing the 64bit version.

ive heard lots of stuff doesnt work with 64 bit OS and very few people use it...

Because, Industries like engineering use computers to model, modeling requires alot of resources,i visited a place where they model parts and other things they had a quad core and 8gb of ram on windows x64 and they had graphics cards specifically for cad purposes. like the quadro.... Pretty much all industries where t there is a need for modeling,forecasting,designing,movie making for commercial purposes people need the 64-bit archtecture......

I know this doctor who asked his hospital to make get him the best video editing rig. S o one day i went and took a look at what they sent him... I was blown away he got a a MAC PRO Dualbooting Vista 64x and OSX Tiger

He had :

16 GB DDR 2 RAM

2 Quadcores (eextreme editition)

2TB of HD space

and to top it off

Two 30 inch mac displays

I was like this is really overkill!!!!

you'll get performance boost only in those applications which support multi threading however there are not a lot of applications which do support multi threading but the software developers are adapting this multi threading in newer softwares.

i have heard that the game cracks we paste in order to run the games without cd are made for 32bit and wont work on 64bit.
is this correct?

for home users and gamers, vista 32bit is the the best choice, besides that there aren't much applications available for 64bit version.
