Well, It depends on declared value and weight of the box. If the packing list contains declared value leveled to original price then Custom will definitely charge you high. DHL only ask after customs' approval. So, in order to acquire your goods you need to pay the charges or if you have any family relation in custom office, approach them. In this case, they would talk to custom dept. and get you the half at least.

Yep. Never use DHL :p I got taxed 1400 for something that cost 5000 rupees.
Usual charges. It depends on declared value from handler. Having Declare value below $10 would mitigate the custom charges. Inother cases, if seller kind enough to mention Product is "Sample" or a "Gift" then it could help too. However, it is declare value that matters most.

Dhl is best if u need stuff urgent and secure and they charge for their services
You should only import stuff worth more then $500+ and invoice value should be low to get a small bill charged
Most of the money goes to customs and taxes

I bought a GTX 1060 and the seller sent it through Honk Kong Post postage charges were 2-3$ however the seller offered free postage. Arrived on 14th day no custom or anything. The seller mentioned on the package that its a gift and its worth is 25$.

@nafu i think they don't charge custom for stuff that cost less i.e 25$. Ebay auction
No, even they cash out on a product contains as low as $5. Lately, I received a product via EMS and paid PKR 937/- on a product was listed $4.0 as declared value.
Despite of what's being written on the box 'No Commercial Value', there is always something they wanna bring out of the receiver's pocket.

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
