No man, that isn't possible. Your PS3 and Laptop must be connected together for the transfer process.
Buy a splitter, it has multiple Ethernet ports that hooks up to the single port on your modem giving you more than one Ethernet port for the same connection.

I had a PSN account before installing CFW as I played a lot of multiplayer games. I also had around 10 platinum trophies on it. After installing CFW, I played around 10-15 more games and got around 10 more platinum trophies. Then I went back to OFW in July and signed into my PSN and synced with it. Before going back to OFW I deleted all my JB games from the hard drive and cleared my logs just to be safe. The trophy data was still there.
