i would say first of all change the term interest to mark up to get away from all the finance nazis here

it would be a really good move on your part, taking the risk and all. i dont think anyone would say no to an installment program.

16% markup seems excessive, simply because the 21K already includes a certain mark-up. the excessive mark-up should be enough to compensate you for the loss in the value of the rupee and hence, i suggest you use KIBOR, which is around 12.5% these days.

as for recoveries and stuff, get the buyers (or their parents in case of kiddies) to give you post dated cheques for the installment amount for all the installment. its not water tight but its better than word of mouth for sure.

P.S. to the people fighting over halal and haram. ARE YOU FOR REAL??? its MARKUP, his profit on a good he is selling. please go research before issuing fatwas. jshak has an item for sale and he is free to calculate the price he wants to charge. Islam does not define a GP ratio above which trades are considered haram ffs

for 20-30k six months plan is sufficient with 15% markup. and plz fix a starting percentage on the plan.... like 25% or 35% of the total must be paid before...

Jshak the biggest problem is credibility.....thts wat needs to be taken care of.
so b4 giving any console u might wanna chk the guys bank statement too.

I voted for yes, but 16% seems lil extra for me. When will be hackable (3.41fw) ps3 slims/fats available on installment? I might wanna buy one.

I know u have not started this service yet but i still want to say some thing and that thing is that i want super street fighter 4 arcade stick for ps3 yah i know i am not asking about any console but still i want that badly so im asking u if u r interested then tell me i will pay u 10k in start and remaining in installments .... u may understand how badly i want it that i am not waiting for ur decision to start this service or not and directly asked u lolzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I liked the idea. coz there are many game lover people who can not buy a console to fulfill their desire to play games. so for them installment plan is a good move...i guess installment plan should be crafted for more than 6 months to ease game lovers.

what if someone buys and after 1month due to any financial difficulties he is unable to pay a month's installment?
will you charge penalty i.e Interest?
