How is this different than CerebralTiger saying ray tracing isn't worth the performance cost, but also continues to be impressed by Insomniac's RT on consoles and Looooomen? He also explained numerious times how the tech usage ain't even all that impressive in Rift Apart to begin with. Performance is king, and RT isn't offering any gains there. Nvidia, however, claims that DirectStorage and RTX IO reduce streaming stutters due to GPUs being able to decompress data much faster than CPUs. Necrokiller himself claimed that the API is the answer to dedicated decompression hardware in the consoles 🤷‍♂️:LOL:

He is not impressed by the fact that Insomniac's engine does not utilize all the throughput available even on PS5 and this was part of his original analysis 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:

Nixxes has done the heavy lifting and basically solved the storage challenge
Besides, the max throughput not being utilized indicates that the bottleneck may be elsewhere (latency perhaps?), and that it may not be the fault of DirectStorage :LOL: 🤜

One can be imrpessed that Nixxes utilized the proper APIs to achieve it, and it could still be underwhelming that the underlying engine isn't capable of utilizing it to its full potential. This is true even for Cerny's mythical machine as Guru Ledbetter proved in his testing and Alex confirmed it in his 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:

The Dualshock 4 destroys the Steam controller with far better gyro functionality, and made it go extinct :LOL: 🤜

Haptics and adaptive triggers, when used correctly, aren't gimmicks at all. Haptics provide more accurate awareness of enemy presence in shooters and the soft lock on adaptive triggers offers practical usage of a dual fire mode. Beat that, fan of extinct controller :ROFLMAO:
