Gameplay first individual blown away by emphasis on “experience experience experience”.

Gameplay shown is hardly more interactive than Virtua Cop. HOLY SHIT.

Keep these takes coming CerebralTiger 😂😂😂

Not really.

But someone inadvertently admitted The Coalition are the best when it comes to Unreal Engine. In that respect, thanks for this demo I guess 🤷‍♂️

Imagine thinking Housemarque can work on something like this :ROFLMAO:

PS5: dynamic 1620p at 30fps (1404p common)
Series S: dynamic 1080p at 30fps (828p common)
Series X: dynamic 1620p at 30fps (1404p common)

- It's the first time we can see a direct comparison of Unreal Engine 5 on new generation consoles taking advantage of the new features.
- All 3 versions use Temporal Super Resolution to upsampling to the original resolution.
- The models have been recreated using Metahuman.
- Lumen has been used for global illumination and reflections. Xbox Series S displays a lower setting, resulting in lower resolution reflections and shadows or more noise in ambient occlusion.
- Chaos is the new physics and destruction engine applied by Unreal Engine 5. Vehicle hits have very good results, but they have a big impact on performance.
- The World Partition & Rule Processor has been used for the creation of the city.
- The new geometry virtualization system (Nanite) is also present. Xbox Series S shows a lower configuration in this section as well.
- Loading times are fastest on Series S, followed by PS5 and Xbox Series X by tenths of a second. They hardly need 5 seconds to load the world.
- The framerate during cinematics suffers constant stuttering at 24/25fps on all three platforms.
- During gameplay, Series S and PS5 have a more stable framerate than Xbox Series X. During driving and impacts, they can drop up to 20fps.
- The quality of the texturing seems to be the same on all 3 platforms.
- The drawn distance is slightly lower on Xbox Series S.
- It is a very interesting first contact with Unreal Engine 5, although it was a technical demo (quite complete). Without a doubt, a bright future awaits us with this engine.
He's been incorrect with his findings regarding resolution in the past, so take that with a grain of salt. Frame rate and load time comparisons should be fine. Interesting to see that the latter is quickest on Series S, despite the texture quality being the same across all 3 consoles (though he may be wrong about that as well lol).

Series X version is more stable with less frame pacing, probably the effect of Coalition helping out with the development.

But in general, holy shit this is incredible.

Damn, frame times are all over the place in that on-rails section on PS5. Performance during the free roam section seems more stable, outside of instances of car collisions.

Hopefully you didn't get too used to 60fps. If you want all this fidelity you will have to downgrade your gameplay experience to 30fps all over again 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:

Don't tell me this is another case of you not believing a performance mode running at Series S settings and (possibly) a few lower settings isn't possible 🤣

Don't tell me you learned nothing after the Watch Dogs Legion disaster :ROFLMAO:
That's exactly what I implied, only in your case 🤣

There's plenty of cpu headroom that wasn't utilized be the demo 🤷‍♂️

The final experience however is indicative of what is possible for a game, running on a PS5 or XBox Series X/S there is still a lot of CPU headroom that would allow a game designer to run the normal mechanics of a game.

Running with the Series S settings at 60fps would be equally as "HOLY SHIT" worthy 🤷‍♂️

Wanna know what's even more "HOLY SHIT" worthy? This quickly put together demo has proper traffic AI, unlike a certain open world game that took 4-5 years to make 😂

Hooooly sh*t, is NXGamer reading this thread? :ROFLMAO:
Dunno about reading this thread, but, much like you, he only seems to have focused on the on-rails section. Your favorite tech analyst after all 🤣

Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
