I have confirmed S10 5G doesn't work. I did test my sister's phone and it doesn't work.
Secondly, I am also not getting 4G+ on my Samsung A12 so thats the reason I am getting slow speeds :-(
I used to get the 4G+ icon on my S8 but on my S10 5G, there's no 4G+ icon. Is this something CSC related? I stupidly flashed the latest ROM on this phone so right now CSC change isn't possible. I got my SO this same phone but hers has a European CSC flashed on it. I'll see if that one has any VOLTE option.
One question of the shady sort. My phone obviously has an interesting IMEI situation. Question: When the phone boots, it doesn't get a cell signal for a couple of minutes. Why is that?
Is your CSC that of a G977N or B? N is Korean, B is Euro. Most of these phones here are N models with B CSC flashed on them.
I'd not touched root stuff in ages. Finally got back into it a bit to bypass safetynet stuff.
It's possible, but also the B3+B8 combo could just be disabled.
Many possible reasons. Most of these 977Ns are refurbed, could be something with the board.
Another possible reason would be that the IMEI that's on your phone is also assigned to another phone in Pak. Usually when two of the same IMEI are active, issues like this happen.
@ASKnASK bro this really old S7 can do CA on both Zong and Jazz screenshots attached. I am surprised to see much newer phones not offering CA. Thts why your S8 was able to show 4g+ and maybe S10 5g is korean phone so it might not support it here in Pak

How do I check any of this stuff? (the B3+B8 combo thing). Or LTE-A support etc? Mobilink on twitter told me my phone doesn't support LTE-A.
Also, what kinda speeds does 4G+ give here? I tested mine outside earlier and it was giving around 80mbps with LTE written next to the signal bars. Someone on xda mentioned that not all carriers/CSCs have different icons for these (S8 used 4G, 4G+ - this one says LTE).
IMEI is unique. It was taken from a dead phone and installed in my presence.
Is there no other way to get support for these features other than popping a SIM in and hoping to see some icons?

If you are getting 80mbps + speeds why bother then let it be even if there is no CA support its the same with Redmi Note 8 pro and its just ok to have 4g connectivity.
It was 73mbps at the time. I'm not concerned about some icon. This phone uses different symbols anyway (LTE instead of 4G). Issue is, 3G in my area is strange. It doesn't give any internet connectivity most of the time its active. LTE works fine even though I get like 1-2 bars on my phone (old S8, this one shows 4-5 bars lol). That's why I want VoLTE.

Switch it to 2G and see if its E or gprs there is always issue with korean/japanese phones and there is always some compromise.

Your phone's IMEI is patched and thats the reason it takes time to catch the signal bars. I also had same problem so thats why sold the phone.
Telenor uses B3+B5, however because the total LTE bandwidth doesn't exceed 20 MHz, Samsung won't show the 4G+ icon even if carrier aggregation is active. You can verify this by using Telenor 4G and opening Service Mode on the phone and seeing that CA is indeed active but the phone just shows the regular 4G icon and not 4G+.
It will only show 4G+ on Zong or Jazz, because when CA is active on those, the total bandwidth is higher than 20 MHz.
Open the dialer and dial *#0011# and it'll open Service Mode. There you can verify which bands are currently active while the phone is connected to LTE.
Don't believe anything Jazz or any of the telcos tell you about CA or VoLTE support. They're just given a list of phones that have been tested by their own teams, and if they're approached by someone who isn't using one of those phones, they will tell you it's incompatible.
Go a few pages back in this thread and you'll see screenshots shared by me and @shaheerk for Jazz and Zong 4G+ speedtests. On a good day with good signal quality, it's not difficult to hit 100+ Mbps on Jazz 4G+ with a phone that supports B3+B8 and 256 QAM.
On Exynos, it's quite difficult go mess around with ServiceMode because the menus are very different and many options aren't visible to most users.
If you're rooted, install this app: Phone INFO ★SAM★ - Apps on Google Play
It uses root access to force launch certain Service Menus that aren't normally accessible through the dialer. If you find the right one, you can probably find the menu that let's you enable certain LTE bands and CA combos. No guarantee that it works and it might fuck something up and you'll then have to reflash the stock firmware again. It's a risk but if it works, at least you know the phone supports it and Samsung just disables certain combos on Korean variants.
A12 modem only supports Cat.4 LTE so it won't be able to use any type of carrier aggregation.
Check online if you can find the dialer code for Engineering Menu for RN8 Pro. I believe MTK does have Engineering Menus on Xiaomi phones, so if you find one that allows you to enable LTE bands / combos, you can try enabling B3+B8 support from there and then seeing if it connects to 4G+.
