In almost every single department of my company, at least one person has been diagnosed positive as coronavirus patient. They have been asked to sit at home. There has been one death so far (pretty young guy) at a power plant.

We've been practicing a number of precautions such as 24 hour shifts in the office instead of the usual 8 hours, and then 6 days rest at home, so that if anyone gets corona symptoms they can remain isolated from other shifts. Thankfully my work is extremely isolated (only 7 people on the floor). But while leaving the office early morning today, I noticed that a lot of people have turned up to work since offices have reopened. The non-essential staff (HR, support services) were doing WFH during the lockdown. Since we didn't have any positive cases in my office building, I wonder how bad it would get now that everyone is returning to their seats.

Apart from office, a close friend's grandpa passed away from Covid. Don't know anyone personally other than his family that were affected by corona.

Allah bachae.

that might be because of less no. of tests? people are actually afraid that if they have the symptoms and go for test and somehow it comes as positive they will be forcefully put in hospital and no one comes alive from there... :laugh1:

People aren't afraid just like that. There is something fishy going on. I don't know about the killings but there are solid reports of the hospitals trying to put every damn case in Covid and even demanding money from the families to give them bodies even when reports are negative. Now not all hospitals are doing this but some are.

But the pitiful part is people still believe that all of these are rumors and are hospitals and doctors are as just as ever. The real solution is lockdown, etc. I can't believe how stupid can people get.

Been going to work in Karachi since mid April. No lockdown, no nothing.

As for how long the virus will stay, for a year at least, imo, but my realist guess would be many years. The intensity will change and hopefully reduce but it will stay even after the vaccine is available (because vaccinating the whole population is a huge task; we still have polio in the country despite the vaccine).

COVID-19 is not as lethal. IF you have a good immune system, you could even recover from it fully without showing any symptoms in the first place. I am no scientist but I have gathered that citizens' of the developed countries were hit harder as their immune system is not as strong as the ones of the people living in the third world countries (Check stats on WHO, top 10 countries are well developed - while countries like Pak, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka stand well below). Having said that, lack of tests could also indicate that low number of positive cases; but on the other hand, we have lower number of deaths too. So we could not negate the hypothesis that immune system plays a vital role in the fight against this virus.

Most of the positive cases are asymptomatic in my circle. In fact right now at our work place we have 20 covid cases that have not shown any symptoms and are actually working with us. My result is awaited but I am sure I had it and have recovered, as I had only suffered mild fever and loss of taste for a few days similar to a friend, whome I been in contact with, who had these same symptoms and came out positive.
Bottom line is if your young and have no preexisting condition, you won't even know if you had it.

My 2nd PCR test has come back negative. I don't have symptoms since last 6 days Alhamdulillah, hence got tested.

Abbu has IgM antibodies (short term), but no IgG antibodies found. IgG should eventually replace the IgM antibodies after a couple of months though. Should get retested in August for IgG.
Ammi has neither, so not sure what went wrong there.
