I think this has more to do with the cell-shaded art style of the game.

I dont know why do developers brag out stuff like "1 Billion Guns". Heck I would take a 100 hand crafted guns instead of a billion any day.

The cartoonist graphics, I already left the B2 in the middle and never tried again. With lots of side quest and bonus of "Large maps", it sets a kind of boring tune for me. So not touching Borderland at all.

Last week, Gearbox officially unveiled that Borderlands 3 was in the works with a colorful debut trailer. Now, the developer has revealed a few more details, including when and where players will be able to jump into the latest game. Borderlands 3 is launching on September 13th on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC — though the PC version will be exclusive to the Epic Store, the budding rival to Steam. Borderlands 3 joins a growing list of Epic Store exclusives, including The Division 2, Metro Exodus, Control, and a trio of Quantic Dream games. Gearbox’s game won’t be exclusive forever, though; the game “will be available on additional PC digital storefronts in April 2020,” according to publisher 2K.

As for the game itself, Borderlands 3 will feature a number of series mainstays — notably, a ridiculous number of guns, lots of vehicles to wreak mayhem in, and a role-playing-style progression — along with several new features. That includes four new playable characters, “seamless” co-op play, and new worlds to explore outside of the mainstay planet Pandora. In keeping with the series’s past, it also features some not-so-subtle box art.

[h=1]No Borderlands 3 cross-play at launch[/h]

Gearbox’s looter shooter won’t initially allow platform-to-platform co-op

Borderlands 3will follow in the footsteps of its predecessors with its focus on co-op gameplay. But the modern push for all platforms to play nice together won’t be reaching Gearbox’s shooter in time for launch, according to a new statement from studio president Randy Pitchford.
Back in April, Pitchford tweeted that his team has “a very keen interest in cross-platform play.” But a new tweet from Pitchford confirms that interest wasn’t quite enough to get the feature into Borderlands 3 for launch.

A representative from Borderlands publisher 2K was able to confirm this information to Polygon, putting a further nail into the coffin of cross-platform play in Borderlands 3 at launch, while reiterating the team’s commitment to support cross-play at some point afterward.
It’s a shame, given the recent push for games like Fortnite, Dragon Quest Builders 2, andMinecraft, all of which offer multiplayer across platforms. We’ll have to wait and see whetherBorderlands 3 is able to follow suit after release.
Borderlands 3 is scheduled for release on Sept. 13 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.

    Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

    if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

    MS one upping Sony in catching the biggest L in gaming
    tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
