@Chandoo so did you start this yet? I've finished it and its easily one of the best game I've played this year. A very emotional journey with a good story and excellent audio visual presentation. Great example of exploring companion relationship you develop over the course of the game, up there with Brothers: A Tale of Two sons. Perfect length for a game without the unnecessary bloat you often find in AAA games. Fantastic job by Asobo Studious.

I started this but put it down after the intro segment. Will pick it up again shortly. The initial segment seemed interesting (poor doggo).

Played up till Chapter 3. The game certainly has the unique high budget AA feel that Hellblade had last year. Also, not sure if it's a side effect of turning off CA, but the day-time scenes feel like they have a brightness-lightyness kind of effect to it (in-game brightness is set to default). Playing @ 1080p/ High preset with CA turned off via the engine settings file.

Also .. is it just me or does the Mom look like Sandra Bullock ? And *holy shit* that is one HELL of a sling. I would have loved to have one of those when I was a kid lol.

Played up till chapter 10. Really loving the game so far, infact I'll go ahead and say I'm having more fun with this than Hellblade. This is probably the best 'high budget AA' quality game I've played in a long while. The game has a fantastic art style and the hide and seek game play segments are handled much better than something like Soma.

There are forced combat sections too but if you're adequately prepared for them, nothing too difficult so far at all.

Hugo is equal parts insufferable and equal parts adorable.

Finished.

Holy shit this was a really good game.

Easily a 9/10.

Pro's:
- Fantastic tech for an indie studio. Good looking character models.
- Good engaging story through out with twists and turns, and a satisfying conclusion.
- Engaging game play segments which build tension.
- Really good music.
- The rats .. the fucking rats ..

Con's:
- While visuals are great, the game is let down in the animations, which shows its limited studio scope.
- Some later areas have tough forced combat scenarios (all combat scenarios are basically 1 hit deaths for the player)
- English localization leaves a little bit to be desired with some really ham-fisted Monty Python style english-french exaggerations, but from what I've read, most people recommend playing in the game's native French w/ English subtitles (like the Yakuza games, it's authentically better).

    So i just found out that f***ing s***bag Microsoft shut down Arkane Studio (makers of the brilliant Dishonored series) and Tango Gameworks (makers of the iconic The Evil Within series), among some other studios. I just want to say a giant F*** Y**! to Microsoft. THEY'VE F***ED UP BIG TIME this time.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
