Beware of calls pretending to be from PTA

I got a call from a Mobilink number 03022654746 from someone pretending to be from PTA. In a commanding voice he started scolding me saying why haven't I registered my phone number with PTA. Note that both my phone number and mobile are PTA registered/approved. He said he is going to send me a code and I need to tell that to him to get my number registered, I refused and he threatened me with blocking my number within an hour. I hung up. The verification code he sent me via text was for the app IMO to get it registered on my number. God knows for what purpose or activities they plan to use these apps registered on our numbers.So guys beware of such calls, know beforehand whether your number and mobile phone are registered by checking with your network/DIRBS etc.

You should definitely send this number and any other details to PTA and FIA Cyber Crime as well so they can look into it.

i got a call few months back it was a prize i had won and i thought the guy was going to ask for some mobile scratch cards etc but he said he needs a code that would come to my mobile, i said ok and the code to which he was asking for was my whatsapp code... i said why should i give this to you and he said he requires this code for me to be validated for the prize. i told him i wasn;t born yesterday and i am not going to give this code to him and i threatened him with filing him to cyber crime etc

To all those people complaining about the verification code instead of money or cash or something.
They use this code to register your whatsapp number on their cellphone just when they enter it in their cellphone. (Since now, WhatsApp only works on one cell)
It, then, can be used for malicious activities, I reckon.

PTA ki call ager bandae ko ati ha to usper pta likha hota ha . Personal experience .
plus number ntc ka hota ha .they don’t call from mobile phone .

Similar calls are also made with people claiming working in intelligence agencies (ISI, Pak Army etc) and demand you to tell them your bank account details etc. It's also a sham and report such callers ASAP.
