Yes that's right I decided to do a little experiment. Using hammer as its made of metal for better heat transfer use to cool down my CPU. There was a fan running on top of hammer at full speed.

I wish hammer surface was straight for better heat transfer

Here are room and gaming temperatures respectively . CPU got really hot in first minute of gaming so I had to stop it immediately.

What we learned: hammer can have destructive effect but same it can produce a positive result depends how you use it.

I guess there was another issue besides the surface contact issue, hammer material does not transfer heat at good speed (from heated edge to other). But it is good experiment indeed.

I havent studied science much but what i understand is conduction is the slowest way of transferring heat. If you need a better alternative then liquid, gas or even better the fastest radiation. However i donot understand how to implement the last one though..

Next time take a cooking pot / daighchi which is relativley smooth from under and pour some water in it. You will have a watercooling system then.

And with boiling water you can bath or pour some tea, milk and sugar to have a cup of mixed tea.

Slightly off there, heat is primarily tranferred by conduction, convection and radiation with condution being fastest and radition slowest (at standard room temperature and pressure)

Yes your are right, copper pipes in heat sinks have gas in them which makes process faster.

Wrong. It's quite the opposite actually. The maximum heat transfer is by conduction, and that too varies, material to material. Some materials have very high conductivity, such as Copper, Silver, Gold, etc while some have very poor conductivity, such as Iron and Steel. This should answer why your hammer experiment didn't exactly work out. If you used something made of copper or aluminium, it would've worked out better as a heat sink. But, even then, the surface area of the heat sink would have been far too less to be effective. You'd essentially be just extending the top surface. That's it.

What makes the heatsinks effective is the number of 'finned' surfaces they have. Each fin increases efficiency since it's that much more place for convective heat transfer.

Secondly, no no no! Gases are POOR conductors. In fact, they are so poor a conductor, they are used as insulators! For example, double and triple pane glass windows use air inside the layers of glass. The use of gases can not make sense. IF your theory was to be remotely correct, a big if, then they would have to use Helium, which is simply not worth the effort, since even when they use Helium, they can get much better heat transfer by using pure copper tubes (meaning, not hollow) at a cheaper cost too.

I hope this helps you guys understand the theory of it.

This actually made me understand the entire theory. I even went out to read more. Lol thanks :D YOU DO LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY

Actually there is a liquid used in heat pipes which vaporizes (absorbs heat) when heated travels to cool section (fins) condensation process takes place (liquified) goes back to hot section and process repeats. Most effective way for cooling

did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!
