Does anyone know anything about this stabilizer? Couldn't find any specs at all.

I read somewhere that a 5kva stabilizer would do fine for an entire house, whereas this monster is 7000 watts (probably ~11.5kva). The only confusion is this "specifically designed for low voltage" thing written on it, which makes me think of it as something needed for 120V used/imported (read F%$#$ up) appliances.

Is this thing really suitable to be connected to a high end gaming PC (through a 2.2kva UPS) simultaneously with a very small capacity (120V) room AC?

3500w UPS??? For only a PC or your entire home? Well my confusion is that this stabilizer is probably relay-type not the servo-motor type which is the one normally suggested to be used with the UPS. I'm not sure of the exact implications as I'm not too much into electronics. But people do recommend against these with UPSs. So I must ask how it's working for you. Have you experienced any instabilities in the UPS or any unexpected behavior at all?

opethian i have been using Homage one for the last 3+ years and it has been working without any issue.
it is believed that Homage doesnt overcharge the battery
last battery lasted 2 plus years with keeping the water level proper in battery

I also had a homage bought back in 2011 or may be 2010 n with Phoenix batteries, those batteries lasted for 3 years untill the UPS was destroyed :)
Using a desi UPS 2kva for last 2 years now with Phoenix batteries n things are amazing. Overcharging can be stopped with one gud relay attached to even an external charger. Anyway I'm skeptic as now adays UPS are not made of good quality.

If you have a gaming PC and you've put it on the same 2kva home UPS/inverter, I'd like to know the peak load from your PC (including LED of course) and whether this UPS/inverter gives you enough time for a graceful shutdown during blackouts while gaming.

I'm looking towards deploying the exact same solution and your experiences and insights shall help greatly.

Thanks.

P.S.: I modified my query a little because I thought it was a little ambiguous.

Ok sounds good. Thnx.

My electrician has suggested to install an Inverex inverter/UPS with 2 big AGS batteries. According to him, it could easily withstand around 700-750 watts for a significant amount of time. I hope this'll prove good for my gaming PC too.

I'd appreciate any help in making any improvements to this solution or related to cost reductions etc.

EDIT: And what if I use a dedicated UPS with the PC in addition to this inverter/UPS solution? Any hazards or implications?

Thanks very much in advance.

Official Generator/Power Backup Advice Thread

So summer has almost arrived and obviously the load-shedding is more frequent now. I had a generator before of a China company, wasn't good and always malfunctioning when needed. So I'm about to get a new generator and need suggestions. I'm looking for at least 6.5KW so I can run 1.5ton inverter AC along with Deep Freezer, Computers (2) and obviously the normal energy savers and fans.

So far two brands have my interest, Hyundai and OES. Both are around 1lac and that's my budget, but wanted to know if there's something better out there, and if someone knows how these two brands.

It doesn't lol, if that feature is on any generator or can be installed in one of the one I'm buying then superb LOL.

Anyways i have a backup UPS as well but it doesn't last long.

All generators are made in china. be it OES, Hyundai or any other
The only good brand is Genuine HONDA which costs 2~3 times the chinese ones and is not worth it.

Some good reliable names that i would suggest is
1. Loncin (good chinese generator, my 6.5kva serving me well for the last 3 years).
2. RATO (good chinese brand. its more expensive than loncin but it has more warranty claim centres

Keep in mind that shop keepers will tell you thats this brand is US, japanese. thats all bullshit. everything is chinese. Also dont buy keeping in view the warranty. The warranty is only for self satisfaction. If any issue or problem exists. the shop keeper will always put the blame on you that due to misuse the warranty cannot be claimed and you have to pay for repair, etc.

As myself being a Mechanical Engineer, kindly note few points to enhance/maintain the life of any generator
1. Even if you plan to use it on gas, Run it on petrol for the first 10~20 hours minimum.
2. There comes a book with generator (O&M manual)that has mentioned on it the maintenance plan (DO READ IT AND FOLLOW IT)
3. The manual tells you when to check and clean the air filter and oil of the generator. Oil is the lifeline of the generator. Replace it with branded oils and at the mentioned frequency of the manual
4. Do not run the generator unloaded or overloaded. It harms the winding of motor and wears engine also. Keep minimum 40% load to max 80%
5. On gas the output of your generator will be reduced by 20%.

Its a simple feature called the AMF. (Auto mains failure) and can be installed at some cost. However, would definitely not recommend it to you because when electricity will go your load would be greater than 6.5kw. As soon as the generator starts. the load will be transferred to generator and it will cause it to trip or burn winding due to excessive load.

These AMF things are usually installed on larger generators that are designed to carry complete backup load and are mostly used in commercial and industrial sites.

Dont know the cost rite now as i havent touched the market for long time. I remember i bought 6.5KVA loncin for approx 60k almost 3 years back

In karachi you can buy it from the main market thats near to Techno city at sadar. dont know the exact name of that place. Several other markets have emerged now here and there in Karachi

Try to get a Yamaha, we bought a small Yamaha generator way back in 98, still works fine to this day. Though we don't use it much anymore and mostly use UPS. But that generator really lasts.

Either that or try to get a Kawasaki or Honda and make sure it's original.

On the Chinese side of market keep a look out for Loncin brand which is quite nice and i've heard some nice things about it.

So I went to the market today.

Loncin is 72k 6.5kW
Grannitto is 115k 6.5kW

How is Grannitto? By the looks and quality it was looking good, solid unlike Loncin which was looking China like. So which one you prefer?

That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.
