Wrong, first I've played XCOM and Crusader Kings II. The former basically didn't appeal "strategy" very much, while the latter was nothing revolutionary in terms of turn-based strategy.
Secondly, the other option was FTL: Faster than Light. But why give it DOTA 2? Bringing back strategy in terms of battle arena, as mentioned in the write-up.
Lastly, we know it's not released. That's why we mentioned it, as written. But lemme correct you, DOTA 2 early access is available to purchase as of now. You get access to the beta as soon as you buy it. If you're really anticipating it that much then you should know that at least. Any guy who's in the beta basically owns the game now.

Similarly, Journey is currently tied with The Walking Dead for overall GoTY, as far as critics are concerned. So where is the flaw in this 'easy game'?
My only grip here is how halo4 is a strong contender and actually won a bulk of rewards when a game like fc3 is in contention

And if you are into MOBA scene off late DOTA 2 is not revolutionary to begin with. LOL and HON are already popular games in the market. DOTA 2 didnt brough anything back. Its just that DOTA 2 is the epitome of MOBA genre and hence the massive following.

Actually some media publications have nominated Dota 2 for their GOTY the awards such as PC Gamer The PC Gamer 2012 Game of the Year nominees | News | PC Gamer on the other hand some like IGN have named in most anticipated for 2013. Its a weird thing as the game is out [its NOT a beta, valve simply doesnot have enough servers around the world yet to handle the capacity] but not been 'actually' released, it simply comes down how a publication perceives the situation.

Missed those multiplatform games for what category? GoTY? Well, like I told you in my last post, we aren't the only ones to give Journey the GoTY award. We didn't miss any games. A few of us, including myself, did include some of the games you mentioned in our lists. However, they just didn't gather enough votes to win. It's as simple as that.
