Finally got the new rig

and so far its pretty fucking awesome, it got a little frustrating in the building part but (allah ka shukar hai) its working fine now.

Okay so, is this a problem or thats how its suppose to be?

As I mentioned in the last thread, I'll be getting the GPU when I come to Pak...so yeah. Pretty awesome untill now, gonna install Vista in the morning!

Won't matter man, the prices here are higher than they are in Pak, so no point really. Lets say around $900.

Well ur suppose to run something that takes alot of cpu processing and then it will show the full core speed try doing a video conversion in the background and then look at cpu-z

Nah its all sorted out now guys, see the link I posted after a few posts above. Its something called "SpeedStep" basically it reduces the multiplier when on idle or browsing around the web etc so if you run a video game or something like orthos it will go up to 2.66ghz.

Yep just did that 3 hours ago, had no effect. Reffered my mobo's manual, it said I had to disable another option, so I did that and its all good now . 2.66ghz ftw!

Might turn on those options later since disabling them has no significant effect on anything much, its not like I'm seeing any slowdowns with Vista but you know....
