Now i have decided to sell my gaming rig, as i am getting my PS3 later in 2008.
I really don't play games on my PC anymore, I hate the installing and loading...crap

Well anyways, can you guys suggest me a rig + monitor which can handle the latest photoshop version and latest flash version.

consider budget in the range of 30K-40K(gotta save for my PS3 aswell;))

are you going to use vista or XP? anyway in in generic terms this kind of system will be more then enough:

- Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz or higher

- 1GB for XP, 2GB for vista (PS is a memory hog)

- HD = Bigger is better for saving source codes, backups, downloaded files and stuff

- GFX Card (any low to mid level card will do the fine job like 8500+) in case of only 2D Flash or PS U don't need any, integrated one would be enough.

- Sound Card - Builtin
- keyboard, mouse, casing etc is your choice doesn't matter.
- Buy Philips LCD monitor, I found them very good in birghtness and contrast (I am using one myself)

No CPU cooler needed, and there you have it! a web designer rig :p

Go with the intel configuration, and as I said if you only want to do work in 2D environment then you don't even need to buy a GFX card, integrated GFX card will do the fine job (specially Intel DG956 series of boards are good)

for monitor view sonic is fine, but I am telling U philips LCDs like 170B or better have the better sharpness and colors, rest is upto you.

for HD, remain stick with Seagate SATA.

Thats the better way to go, few things tho....

Get 2GB, don't go lower then that!
Bump up the HDD to 160 and SATA, coz SATA is much faster. (Maxtor and Seagate are both very good, go with the one that you like)
Vista is very good, I've been doing all my PS, Flashy stuff on it and works very smooth on C2Ds. So vista is the way to go.
Your GPU is very good, you might even be able to play a few games on it and that memory is definitely useful.

2 GB for vista is highly advised otherwise there are many hangups here and there and vista uses like 350 - 500 mb RAM while idle so softwares like photoshop wont be that smooth on 1 gb.

bas us kay baad I developed interest in this web designing stuff, first i made a website and now i am making nav designs and flash games for different sites, currently i am working on a game which will soon come up on a site(which I will tell you later).

Now, This is what I have decided
Processor - E4500 2.20Ghz (2MB CACHE - 800 MHZ FSB)
Motherboard - D946GZISL (775PINS - SND+AGP+LAN) PCX SLOT
Memory - 1GB for XP, 2GB for vista

Monitor - ViewSonic VA-1703W 17" SILVER BLACK WIDE SCREEN

GeForce PCX 8500GT 512MB (128-BITS) - should i buy this or not?

the total budget including the GFX card comes around 40k and without GFX card 35k

Processor - E4500 2.20Ghz (2MB CACHE - 800 MHZ FSB) === OK
Motherboard - D946GZISL (775PINS - SND+AGP+LAN) PCX SLOT === OK
Memory - 2GB for vista === OK
Hard Drive - 80GB 3.5" HDD IDE 7200RPM (STM3802110A) === get bigger
Monitor - ViewSonic VA-1703W 17" SILVER BLACK WIDE SCREEN === OK

GeForce PCX 8500GT 512MB (128-BITS) ---- NONONO, instead buy any 7 series card

nahh... 8500GT is not worth to buy... even for web browsing... its just a waste of money and resources

u r better off with integrated graphics with G965 or G33 chipset
