This dirbs system is fu*ed up. I just can't believe how these retards are expecting us to pay huge fees. No wonder everybody tries to dupe the system. Just check my attachment. 7-8 year old phone & they are asking for 8k.
Bro no point in getting it unlocked. These fu**tards think every device imported into this country is stolen or some shit. How can you ask somebody to pay these huge fees on top of their purchasing costs. If they cannot even have such simple sense then may God save our country.

Why didn't you check yourself if it's approved or not?

Now the only choice is to pay the tax amount or get another phone that's already registered.

DIRBS system is broken. I read that they were charging 9k tax on a phone valued at 2500 rs.

Go visit the shop yourself and show the shopkeeper.

Doesn't count. If it was used after October 2018, then it would've been automatically approved.

DIRBS didn't even exist 2 years ago so there was no way that could've helped.

53,711??? That's not tax, that's you funding the government.

You can find Note 5 kit from Market for around 20k-22k. PTA Approved.

For 53k you could buy a brand new box pack Pocophone with full warranty...

yes they are, but i got it for 18k. and the i think visiting the shopkeeper isn't going any justice because when he gave me that 3 days warranty i found out that this phone isn't approved and was gonna return the device in an instant. but his shop was closed for straight 4 days, i kept re-visiting his shop and tried to call him so yea he talked me with gali baloch. so i got scammed.

True .any phone that was used with a sim before December 31 2018 was automatically registered on dirbs .any phone bought and activated after this date without pta approval needs to be registered after paying tax

I jut laughed LOL

Your application for Certificate of Compliance to Technical Standards (COC) has been submitted. Your brand name is: samsung gt-i9192 and model name is :gt-i9192 with IMEI(s): 357967055603640. Your PSID against your device is: 20000880180190623 and total custom duty is (Rs): 9174.0000. The device will remain in pending state until the duty is paid for it.

Its a S4 mini that might just cost 3k in market and they are asking Rs.9174

so you basically got scammed. decide on whether it makes more sense to spend that money on a brand new pta approved phone or on this old PoS that you got stuck with. i think you'll find that a new phone is a better choice. no point in throwing more good money after bad.

ah this is a good idea. i suggest buying a cheap pta approved dumb phone to get a genuine imei number and using that. don't try to buy an imei number from some shopkeeper or you'll find that blocked in the future too because a dozen phones are using it :)

Hi there! It's important to remember that PTA approval is required for all phones imported into Pakistan. This means that if your phone was not PTA approved, it is technically illegal. However, many people still buy phones without PTA approval because they can be cheaper. If you bought your phone from a shop, you should be able to get a refund or exchange if the phone is not PTA approved. However, if you bought your phone from an individual, it may be more difficult to get your money back. You better reach out to a law company for advice or to guys from thefinitygroup.com. It's not quite their job, but once they helped me sort out this kind of problem! Cheers!

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
