Hey guys, I just bought a PS5 from Dubai and brought it back home to Karachi, seems I cant use my existing account as it requires 2 step verification now for some reason and the app is not available on iPhone in Pakistan. What is the best way to make an account and purchase digital games in Pakistan? TIA

You should create a new PS account, and buy digital games using PS gift cards.

Also, PS App can't be downloaded from the iPhone App and Android Play stores in Pakistan due to restrictions.

The only option to install the mobile app is to get an Android phone, and download the latest Apk file.

Thanks for the reply. If I make a new account should I make a US or UK account? Don;t have android phone so cant use the app, is there a way to turn off the the 2 step authentication as I don't want to pay for a game to lose the account

I recommend a US account if you intend to buy digital games. You can avoid taxes (VAT) by selecting a state with no tax such as Oregon, Alaska, Delaware, New Hampshire, or Montana.


To remove verification, Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Security. Select 2-Step Verification and set the Status as Inactive.


Also, without the PS app you can't share in-game captures on social media. If you want to share moments of glory with friends, I suggest you buy a cheap second hand phone with Android 11+ for under 20k.
