Shouldn't there be somekind of a poll?

Anyways i like short endings in between a cliffhanger( half life 2, halo 2 ) and "everyone lived happily everafter" ( Kotor ). Endings should really be the best point in a game.

I really like MGS ending. Just when u thought everything is ok suddenly u realize that we have been fooled all along or it was just the beginning.

i think you should get a satisfied ending and still get some clue that this may continue...or this aint over yet..

Ohhh, half-life2 ending is the kind i love! Its pure suspense, and want for more!

i prefer the MGS3 kind of ending, bitter sweet but with a sense of fulfilment that you feel like you've really ended the game.

half life 2 my god what an ending...i also enjoyed warrior within's unhappy ending in which the prince dies...and yeah ace combat :the belkan war's ending was also kinda cool too

I love sad endings. Or sad-happy endings (FFX, FF2). I really dislike endings where everything turns out OK. That just makes it too hard to believe and ruins everything, especially if that is in a RPG (Grandia3: Yuki tells him 5 y.o. son to go fly a plane! woohoo!).

Oh and endings where EVERYTHING turns out to be wrong is just my personal pet peeve. I mean seriously, I didn't go through this much to find out it was all worthless! Bah!

FFX had a great ending but the pre-ending cinematics were sort of baah .. lol
egm makes great fun of it in their podcasts every now and then

yes he's in the first game, he's the 'administrator' (or something) of the black mesa facility (the area in HL1) and you see him several times in the game, in the end he asks you to choose either to work for him or die.

HL2 picks up after the work for him choice.
