According to various sources, the Geforce 8800GT also known as G92 will work at 600MHz for the core and 1.8GHz for the memory. The reference score for this card in 3DMark06 is 10,769.

Clocks might get a boost, but that depends on the performance of the Radeon HD 2950PRO. The Mobile01 web site posted a picture of the 8800GT card. You can see that the card has a single slot cooling solution.

The launch date for this card is rumored to be October 29th as we reported earlier.

Fudzilla indicates that G92/D8P aka the Geforce 8800 GT is not Shader model 4.1 compatible. It can mean one of two things, one, that Nvidia doesn't want release the information or two, simply that this chip doesn't have support for Shader model 4.1 and DirectX 10.1

This comes as an interesting surprise as we know that the RV670 aka the Radeon HD 2950 series will support Shader model 4.1 and DirectX 10.1.

We will ask around and try to find out if this is the case, but this would be a big setback for Nvidia, at least when it comes to feature tick boxes on upcoming games.

It seems like more GeForce 8800 GT card photos have surfaced online as seen in our forums and apparently another website in China got the inside scoop. This time round the PCB is black in color, which looks better than the reference green PCB. The GPU heat-spreader looks the any other G80 series and the rumored die size of G92 is 289mm2 as opposed to ~480mm2 of the G80.

8800GT will come in two flavors, one with 512MB and second with 256MB and both will work at the same clock speed. This time there won't be a GTS and GT or a faster version and the slower one. Nvidia will simply call this card Geforce 8800GT 512MB or 8800GT 256MB.

They will both work on a 600MHz GPU clock and the memory will be clocked at 1800MHz but some overclocking partners will come along with GPU and Shader overclocked versions (SPOC) overclocked cards.

This might be a bit confusing for the end user, but then again whatever makes it run faster is just fine by us.

dont underestimate this card.
its got 112sp compared which are still more than 8800gts.
i think the only thing to choke this card will be its 256bit interface.

Some GeForce 8800GT benchmarks appeared over at the Mobile01 forums. Apparently the upcoming 8800GT will score 14679 in 3DMark 05 and 35351 in 3DMark 03, but the odd thing with the screenshots is the fact that the CPU is reported as @ 2400MHz which makes it all look odd.

A bit more reliable is the cut-out from some Nvidia material which talks about clock speeds and stream processors, as we already knew the cards would have 112 stream processors and according to this info they'll be clocked at 1.5GHz.

The cards will also have a 256-bit frame buffer and the poster on Mobile01 claims that the 512MB version will be able to perform 40 Giga instructions per second compared to only 27 for the 8800 GTS 640MB.

However, this won't reflect the overall performance of the card, this only has to do with the stream processors. More here (in Chinese)

Also Digitimes confirmed that Nvidia plans to launch Geforce 8800GT on the 29th. These guys believe that Nvidia changed the plans but end of October was the plan that is at least two weeks old if not even more. Partners are printing the boxes, checking the samples and production is on the way. The cards will be ready at launch. 256MB version will be priced 179~199US$ where as 512MB verion will be 229~249US$
