I need some suggestions!

Hi guys I need some suggestions with sound speakers . Ive been thinking to buy a 5.1 or 7.1 surround system . Kindly suggest me which bracd is better

1. Creative
2. AltecLansing

Ive seen that AltecLansing speakers dont require a separate sound card which is pretty cool , I think . Kindly help me out on this .

Only 5.1 surround systems or above require separate sound cards !

Creative is the brand I can trust, recently one of my friend bought the AltecLansing 5.1 speakers along with the creative sound card, but the speakers not giving the quality which I thought they should gonna give.

So, stick with creative if you have the budget as creative speakers are bit expensive..and get the creative 7.1 with a good sound card like X-Fi Xtreme Music etc..

BTW since this topic is hardware realted..so moving it to hardware section.

you'll need a compatible sound card if you intend to use 5.1+ speakers setup, as a built-in sound card don't have the support for 5.1.

Some latest expensive mother boards contains a built-in support for 5.1 or 7.1 like Asus Striker Extreme etc...

well old cheap mobos will support min 4.1 because 4.1 requires only 1 connection
and i remember that one of my friend connected his polk audio 5.1 to his old asus 845 mobo.
using all his 3 ports at the back of the mobo.

u can also connect 5.1 and 7.1 speakers on any built in sound card with the jacks available in market
I hope u know what jack i am talking about.

ONLY IF, If you don't really care about the sound quality as builtin cards on the cheap mobos can't provide the fill-up sound experience and HD effects and that kills the purpose of using a 5.1 or higher speakers setup!

Wats the use of gettin 5.1 and 7.1 when u cant enjoy the full SURROUND SOUND ????

ALL built in motherboard sound r just average. EVEN the latest ASUS STRIKER EXTREME cant give quality as good as CREATIVE sound cards.
Buy X-fi xtreme music for rupees 5900 ( on galaxy) and speakers of ur choice. minimum 5.1 recommended.

U will be amazed by the sound effects u hear when watching MOVIES and SPECIALLY gamez.
( u can tell where ur enemies r coming from even without lookin at them by hearing the footsteps. A good advantage in CS. )

Altec lansing is good but there is no1 who makes SOUND better than CREATIVE .

P.S ( i have CREATIVE SOUNDS BLASTER audigy 2 zs with creative 4.1 ) sounds awesome even though i lack the 5th speaker .)
