Help Required Regarding Torrent Downloading

Help Guys
I Just want a guide for torrent downloading
I Just got 512 Recently
I've heard torrent downloading is very fast
But Mine is slow as snail
i get maximum speed of 15 kbs
And Even when i turn the uploading option off, it keeps uploading

I am using bit lord and u torrent
but nothing seems to be working

Try downloading BitComet, I believe that is the most popular torrent downloading software. Other than that, always look for how many seeders there are for a file before you begin downloading. It all depends on whether the program you are trying to download is popular worldwide or not. If it isn't, then you will get slow speeds. If you try to download any popular game like cod4 then you will get many more seeders and much faster speed.

If u get torrents 4m mininova then always see the quality bar and seeds
i ve got 512 and get 40-60 KBS

IF you have a Cable ISP 512 then your speed will come slow, 12 max.. If you have a DSL then your Connection is sheared into 5 members. but the speed will come fast about 30 to 35. Try use BitTorrent software ..

now this is really getting annoying :S this is I think the 7th or so topic about torrent help here on PG..looks we need to write the guide for it :S

1 - you need to forward the port for the torrent. (www.portforward.com)

2- If you are on XP you need to do the TCP/IP patch to allow the maximum incoming connections for the torrent:

3- Just don't disable the upload option..you are killing your speed

I am using Linkdotnet (Previously Known As Dancom Online)
I got 512 KB\s Unlimited

dose software got anything to do with it
i mean every platform will copy data from remote server won't it ??

Sometimes the programs are made for each region..i dont blame the software..it is the settings!!!
