CoD 4 on Windows 8.1.

Whenever I run the game, it pretty much crashes, saying "iw3mp has stopped working". I've tried running it on compatibility modes, safe mode, tried running it with a microphone plugged it. The game ran fine on 8, but seems to have problems on 8.1. Is anyone here able to play it on 8.1 successfully?

which COD4 verison you have??

I'm not too sure what version it is, just a simple Multiplayer rip i found a while ago that's been updated to 1.7. I may need to download another version since I tried the same installation on Win 7 and that also crashes.

Edit: Turns out the problem was punkbuster. I deleted the PB folder in my directory, after which it launched fine. I then downloaded an updated version of the pb folder and put it in my game installation and now it works fine. Thanks for your help :salute:
