does it even matters? last i checked as far as the games are concern ps3 is region free! (games are not region locked) oh well at least till the time i had it i never bothered with the region everything simply worked, the only reason i got the NTSC/U was coz of region locked Bluray movies.

Maybe things have changed now?

some dlcs on psn are region locked so since reg1 has the most dlcs its more expensive...
