Sorry, I never really got to look at the details, had a blackout right after I started looking at the chart. I think it might still be a half decent approximation though, the relation with HoN MMRs holds true for several people I know. -

So some guy plotted known MMRs to get a fairly accurate estimate of its distribution. The 90th percentile corresponds to roughly 4600, the 50th percentile is roughly 3750 (around 1600 for you ex HoN players; I think the 90th percentile in HoN was 1850ish but I'm not sure). -

Wildly fluctuating pings since a couple of days. Can be as low as the regular 100ms (on SEA) or shoot up 4-500ms. Any one know whats up? -

So I'm on Nayatel and I got IP banned twice in 2 days by the PTA for using VoIP - except I've never done that. So I called up Nayatel support and they assigned me a new IP on each occasion. This sort of anecdotal evidence doesn't prove anything. Given the large number of variables involved in any one game, its obvious that dota is a game of probabilities, and that statistical data becomes significant only with a large enough sample size. You could win by having your void babysit... -
