Yes, it's the wifi. Trust me, the speed difference between the transfer rate with a wired connected is way better than the transfer rate with a wireless connection. And I still get 7.5MPBS when I transfer with a wired connection, and I have never had to wait more than an hour for any of the files that I've transferred. The largest one that I transferred was a 15GB file and it took about 45 minutes to transfer if I remember correctly.
Sadly, you can't pause or resume the transfers. They'd just restart from the beginning if you tried but if you have a wired connection then the transfer rate greatly improves.
