i've played one and two, haven't played three.
well if you've got the tolerance to play old games through emulators, then i guess you should try final fantasy vii. It doesn't play like moern RPg's though, fighting is done in turn based battles.
it's really old, you probably won't enjoy it.
buy PS2, play Final Fantasy 10 to 12, wait for final fantasy XIII on the 360 or PS3

yeah if you've got a gaming quality you'll probably want to play the PC version. But if you have played something like FFXII or Star Wars KOTOR on the consoles, you would have known exactly how this game plays since they play almost EXACTLY the same way.
