- u play games on vista / xp?
vista64, dx10 performance is way better
- overclocking of HIS 4870...anything you would like to tell
use ati overdrive from ccc or ati tools, but i didn't feel the need
- you must have read reviews about this card. Does it yield the same FPS as that mentioned in most of reviews?
i was getting avg of more than 150 frames/s in assassins creed at all max.
- Do you keep AA on or off?
max uptil now
- Any experiments with Crysis? Like FPS at high and very high?
havn't tried crysis, consult AsknAsk, he played using 4850 at very high.
- Did u try some over clocking?
my board is intel, it won't allow me oc.
- What is your display's resolution?
1280*1024 (i know im wasting my card at this resolution)
- Do u think close competitos GTX 260 is better? as it consumes less power and generates lesser heat?
google's saying that 4870 is better than 260, IMO, 260 will perform better at resolutions above 2xxx*16xx because of more memory, but below that, 4870 ftw.
- what idea about your own card's power consumption and heat dissipation?
haven't checked power consumption yet, but the idle temps are around 80C to 82C and while gaming they have reached 94C max, (their max threshold is 120C). u can increase the fan speeds using the ati profiles mod but i haven't done that myself, cause i think its better the way it is.
- what arrangements about cooling? so far, i have everything china. just one chassis fan and thats it
no extra cooling, a rear casing fan, the processor fan, and the psu's fan. im planning to get a cooling solution.
- which PSU you have? Shall u suggest better?
i have CM 600 Extreme power, yes, i would suggest the corsair tx650 or better.
- Performance with Medal of Honor Air Borne? this is important as none of reviewers paid heed to such a good game.
sorry, havn't played this game yet.
best of luck with your choice. waisay, make a thread in the hardware zone, telling ur display resolution and get the experts opinion for the best gpu for that size.
