support for the haptic features of the PlayStation 5 Dual Sense controller – anyone who’s frantically tried to pump up the pressure on their Tikhar in the middle of a pitched battle will be able to imagine the kind of thing we’re aiming for!
Don't see any mention of adaptive triggers support. No support, no replay.

@CerebralTiger full 4k with 60 fps on both consoles with Ray tracing

Probably has dynamic res enabled and scales down to 1440p or below when stressed.

Edit: it's temporal reconstruction (probably from 1440p).

AFAIK the Redux version of Observer is the only first-person game so far that includes the player character in the BVH for RT reflections (lol Cyberpunk). Maybe Battlefield V does it too? Never tried it on PC, so no idea. Will be interesting to see if Artyom is visible in reflections.

Bad news for AMD Super Resolution.

Will you be adding in AMD Super resolution later?
We will not be adding specific support for this, as it is not compatible with our rendering techniques.

Digital Foundry coverage:


Unlimited light bounce (Real-time bounce for first only)

Performance is on par with original release except in a few instances.

Nvidia 3080 performs at Ultra RT what an AMD 6800 XT does at Normal/High RT


Ultimately, the infinite bounce RTGI produces ultra-realistic lighting conditions that almost look like offline rendering. Many games have static, off-line generated light maps where nothing moves but in this game it is actually real time, fully dynamic lighting that integrates beautifully with the time of day systems. Without a doubt, Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition's global illumination produces the best lighting I have ever witnessed in a video game.
With the new RT features, the game looks fantastic, with some scenes at times approaching the lighting quality of offline rendering from a path tracer.

Good thing the broskis at 4A Games targeted 60fps without DLSS.

DLSS 2.1 performance mode vs in-engine temporal upsampling which will likely be used on Series/PS5.

The consoles are also probably gonna use the "Normal" RT preset that Alex describes in the video, which runs RT at quarter resolution, or maybe High if they're feeling ambitious which runs a full resolution but using Checker Boarding.

Probably the Normal setting, since they're targeting 60fps.

High is a possibility since RT reflections are not supported on consoles. Remains to be seen what base quality setting they use as the PC version scales to Ultra and Extreme beyond the High setting. There's also HairWorks and Advance PhysX which are more taxing on AMD.
