Oh my god. Just because it had good performance and was pretty cheap. I decided to buy it. I didnt realize that this cooler has the weirdest and most annoying mounting systems I've ever seen.
Always take into account how good a cooler's mounting system is. It matters a lot. I've taken it out and tried to reinstall it correctly twice yet it still isn't mounted correctly and my 3600 is at 60 degrees at idle!

make sure your ryzen 3600 is OK

ryzen 3600 should not reach idle 60c even with an ordinary heatsink

you can test H7 on another setup and test your 3600 with another cooler to x-check

Exactly. I'm gonna install the stock cooler to atleast make sure the cpu is OK. Also, the 60c temps were while browsing. But still pretty high.
I'll reply with an update.

Alright I tried the stock cooler. The stock temps were even worse and it even reached 92c for a few seconds while playing FFXV. So I decided to play with the settings.
I changed PBO from auto to disabled in the bios, and went into the ryzen power plan in Windows and set the maximum power limit to 99%. When I played FFXV again, the CPU never went above 68C. I'm happy with the result, but I don't know how and why this is happening, or whether I maybe somehow possibly made my frequencies worse.

I'll check the frequencies and do a few cinebench runs tomorrow. We'll atleast my processor is running cool now. Idle temps around 45C. But I just don't know why it wasn't running cool when stock.

Thats AMD for ya. Good products but ill be damned if they dont some require fiddling to get them running to there intended performance.

nothings wrong with cooler it is AMD cpus i have 2600x and it runs hot like this and it is all in specs if temps are below 95C mentioned on AMD website even my 2600x went upto like 110c AMD cpus are HOT

- - - Updated - - -

and also it is because of very high voltages my vcore goes upto 1.47 even 1.5

and AMD cpus are maxed out from the factory intel cpus have some frequency head room so run they cooler and you can overclock them and lower voltages on intel compared to higher voltages on amd cpus

The general recommendation with 3rd gen Ryzen is to just install and run them. Don't worry about voltages and temps too much (unless they're really excessive). The CPUs is given even 1.5V at times and it is fine with it. Make sure you're using the latest BIOS for your motherboard. AMD has been issuing a lot of AGESA updates to fix some issues.

My 3600 idles at 30 these days and hits 58 under AIDA64 CPU stress test, with ambient around 28.

Man lemme tell you all what happened today! I've been on a wild goose hunt. The cooler is fine and the processor is fine. I'm idling around 45c now and while running cine bench, I didn't go above 65c. The clocks stayed rock solid at 4.2ghz in single thread test.

What do I think made the difference? It was changing from ryzen power plan to the windows balanced power plan. Now I can run my cpu at 100% power with good temps. To everyone owning new ryzen chips, don't worry about the high temps! Just get a good cooler and you're good to go! The cryorig h7 plus is not bad! Although I did expect it to cool a bit more (like 59c instead of 64-63c). Thanks to everyone for the help! Love u guys.

I doubt that. Most people on reddit report idle in the 30s. I don't have PBO/AutoOC enabled. I'll wait for that stuff to become stable and reliable before I use it. Processor boosts to 4200 on one core often enough.

And yes I'm using a 360mm AIO. Pumps runs at around 2600rpm but is virtually soundless.

I wouldn't recommend changing the power plans. AMD has tweaked its plan in various ways. I'm not that knowledgeable technically but basically the Ryzen plan reduces the response time of the CPU for queries, kinda like the spin-up time of a mechanical HDD.

I would suggest resetting BIOS to default, only changing settings absolutely necessary (in my case, manually clocking the RAM at 3200MHz @ C16). I'm on a Crosshair VII Hero.

I was kinda obsessed with OMG 5GHZ and OMG 90C stuff in the beginning. Thought several times about selling this package and getting a 9700/9900K but frankly speaking, there is no point unless you wanna do 144fps gaming at 1080p. Anything above 1080p is beyond the control of a CPU since most if not all games at that resolution will be dependent on your graphics card.

This processor has cut down my Android Studio build time exponentially (compared to my previous 4.5Ghz 4670K). That's just one example.

Here's my system in case you're interested. Need some cable management done but otherwise good.

Yea I'll change the power plan to see how it acts. Can't be too bad now that I know how the processor behaves. And my cooler should be able to prevent it from going over 80. Anyways nice build man! And thanks for your help. And I'll keep PBO disabled (it was on auto by default and I also enabled and cool n quiet buy that didn't make a difference).

No spaces in the username.

GPU is currently sitting at 26C with Android Studio and Chrome running. Fans are off. This is a Strix 1080Ti so the cooler on it is top quality. I think this is the coolest 1080Ti on the market. Vertical mount hasn't affected temps adversely, thanks to the way the air flows in my case, and the decent clearance from the side panel (> 1 inch). Also, this particular case (View 71 TG) has lots of space for airflow.

Damn. 1 inch is more than enough! Nice. I was looking at the view 71 but thought it was too big. Now my heart belongs to the H500p mesh. But I can't find it in white in Pakistan. Gonna remove the PSU shroud from that too for better GPU temps. My 2080 zotac amp currently goes till 74C at max load and 34c idle.

you have disabled PBO and auto OC whats the difference between temps before and after it? and whats your manual clock frequencies?

In my case, from what I noticed, PBO didn't do anything for me. It is supposed to give +-200MHz boost but the processors are already maxed out out of the box. I don't expect the 3600 to go above 4200 on more than a single core.

Sucks but it is how it is. For the 3700 etc, there is some difference.
