I'v been working on a personal project for quite some time...Here's a glimpse of what little i have accomplished so far working solo..
The purpose of sharing this little footage with you guys is to get a response on whether i should continue on this project and then turn it into a complete full fledged game.. or should i just drop it in between cause its not worth it and start all over again from 3D....
You're free to comment your thoughts and suggestions....Everything will be taken in a positive threshold cause I am still learning and even if you guys roast me over this i'l still consider it worth while cause i might be able to learn something from it.
Enjoy..

just skip to 0:35 seconds i dont know where that long ass black screen came from...

P.S if you guys feel like all the text is killing it xD just fast forward or increase the speed of the video.

@NaNoW I would like to hear your golden words of wisdom and thoughts over my work xD

where should i start, the concept looks good but a lot of things need improvement such as the environment, flow between the animations (fix this by increasing the sprites for one action if you know a bit about handrawn animations and stuff you'll know what i mean), the jump animation and of course the fights. How long did it take for you to get this far ?

wow..how did I miss this thread..okey so lets start would agree with V3nom and Yasir Nadeem..and add 1) nice job getting "your feet wet" with actually making a game2) The key to great narrative writing is : Rewriting. Rewriting. Rewriting I would say, go through all your text a few times. See what you can eliminate, see what adds to the atmosphere and see what takes away from it. For example: I would tone down the dots, exclamation marks and the "oh I am so surprised type dialogue" ..currently they have been used a bit too casually and it takes away from their importance. Take a look at text from old Pokemon games, to see how they introduced random fighting elements in the game world.also usually these kinda quest games are top down isometric with ability to explore and ability to run away or avoid fights, if you are going with a 2d game, I would suggest looking at how you present text, cause our hero has no other option but to fight and go through a linear experience. 3) The animations and visual look can go through a passover aswell - but if it is meant for a small fun experience , I would say - leave it as it is..there is much more important stuff to look over ..such as meaningful gameplay feature i.e crafting system, point system, experience system, etc - which ties in to the story and adds to the experience. 4) Working towards finishing the game first...all the polishing and improvements can come after a complete first draft is finished. Trying to polish inbetween might end up taking more time than you thought and might result in project not being finished.I am very much looking forward to the next update in the story
