You do not need to do SAT but I would suggest that if you can try then do study for SAT in summer break and give it so that incase you aren't able to get into a uni abroad(Germany if you are quite specific),you can apply for one in Pakistan for the time being . But I personally didn't give SAT because I didn't have time for it . Already have 5 subs in Alevels and i'm finishing English Literature in just one year so yea.But I would advice that IF you can manage it then give it a shot
Where are you planning to go to?

First plan was to go to Germany but Language was mandatory so i tried looking for unis who taught in English but the fees was extremely high so I apply to those with scholarships but unfortunately I missed deadlines of alot of universities because my passport was with NADRA for renew. So right now I applied for China and will be applying for Turkey.Right now I have also applied and got admission in Habib university, this is so that if a year is being wasted away,I can study here while studying German parallel and then apply for Germany which is like my dream . Besides that, the only university that teaches in English and got me in is University of Twente so waiting on it's scholarship and if I get into university of Twente,I'll finish my bachelors from there because its ranked somewhere in top 200 .

The thing is, that on all academic documents including the degree certificate, my name's format is like (FirstName Father'sName Surname), whereas in the official documents like CNIC and Passport, I have my name as (FirstName Surname).

Now I have got admission in a German university. Does anyone have any information regarding whether this might be a problem when I go for visa at the German Embassy, or when I go for enrollment at the university?

About Masters in CS in Germany...

- Anyone here who can tell me what is a sufficient GPA (cumulative and major) for admission in MS in good universities in Germany?

- I was looking at TUM, Saarland etc are they good universities? What are better alternatives for grad study in CS.

I can get good recommendations and SOP but I am worried about GPA requirements plus the university websites do not have any stats.

- Are there any scholarships (not asking about work here) available to cover living costs for masters?

Getting into TUM, Saarland is not easy , there are others such as Universitat BONN,TU DARMSTADT,TU Kaiserslautern etc which are easier to get into and are very good in the Computer Science Department , GPA requirements arent that high afaik , anything around 3 is enough , check the daad website for more details

okey my suggestion is Apply to every university that offers course you are interested in..EVERY UNI...

let me give you a list

https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programs/en/?p=l#q=computer&degree[]=2&subject=0&lang[]=2&langDistribution=0&tyi[]=1&sortBy=1&page=1&display=list

click on link above all unis here are equal..except TUM maybe, which is easily the most famous, but most of these unis have very reputable degrees..
In my opinion the rankings are
München, Saarland, Aachen, Freiburg, Darmstadt, Karlsruhe, Hamburg,Bonn, Dresden, Konstanz, Kasierslautern, Heidelberg, others....

good work done
what subjects did you take at inter ? What field do you want to pursue ? Are you looking forward to go abroad solely on scholarship or are willing to pay for some percentage of tuition fees ? Do you want to do the course solely in English or can do a year language course as well ?

hey bro do you now about the scope of Social sciences in europe especially Germany?
Or should i phrase it like which degree holds more scope in germany BBA or BS A&F and what about Intl relations or POL.science sorta thing any idea about that
because what i heard from a friend who is sorta employed in germany says that usually CS and other Engineering grads hold great scope in germany in industry , research etc ..... But areas like social sciences don't have much jobs or scope especially for Pakistanis? NaNoW

I am a sophomore student at LUMS doing Management Sciences and plan to do a masters in economics/econometrics/finance/Maths (operations research) from abroad. I know it is still a long way to go however I feel my present condition calls for a reality check on my future prospects. Basically my major deals with operations research so in masters I want to complement my bachelors with a solid foundations in Economics/Finance or going into depth of Operations research in masters by doing a masters in Maths etc.

So,

1. I really fucked up my first semester GPA and owing to that, my CGPA remain at 2.7, However I do plan to increase it to a 3.0-3.4 in subsequent years (I improved 0.8 decimals in 2nd semester)

2. If I get a Final year GPA at 3.2 for example, can I get into a "decent" German University in Economics/Maths/Econometrics (or even finance).

3. I know German universities do not charge any tuition fees and there is a very low Semester registeration fees. However I believe my father "won't" be able to bear even my Living expenses (basically those EUR8000 you have to freeze). So I want to know "Is there any way german universities, or third parties possibly provide me with a scholarship which can cover these expenses (Either partially or fully)??" Do remember My Final Year gpa will lie at 3.4 at max, However I am working hard to make up for that by gaining internship/job experience and getting a variety of skillset (learning cs online etc etc).???

@NaNoW bhai, If you could please help me with it. I know it is too early a call; however I know at that time nothing would be possible as my father is simply not in the financial position to bear the expenses.

nanow bhai :D:D

See the thing is that you have to freeze 8000 Eu..not spend it..you can loan that money come to Germany, work here and do internships and pay it back within 6-8 months..I know at least 5 guys who have done this.

hahaha : D

I heard that you can deduct a portion of this amount every month to cover your monthly expenses, so is that the case?
Moreover what about the other two questions :p

I need some info about Australian/Germany study visa.

1:- Which country is most suitable Australia or Germany in terms of living, expenses and friendly people?
2:- I have a gap in my academic history. I did my Intermediate in 2008 and now i am doing my B.A(private) in humanities and social sciences subjects. Am i eligible for the visa?
3:- What are the health requirements for the visa and are they required by Australian/German GOVT or Universities?
4:- Suggest some reasonable universities in terms of expenses.
5:- Upon completion of the study, can one get work permit?
6:- Which Council is good for IELTS, British or Australian?
