Ubisoft has been pretty busy in the last few months crowing about Assassin's Creed Unity, claiming that the next outing in its bestselling globetrotting, time-travelling, memory invading series will be the moment that the next-generation truly arrives. Promising a near 1:1 scale recreation of 18th century Paris, complete with thousands of citizens on screen at any one time, Assassin's Creed Unity promises to be the biggest graphical leap yet in the series' history.
With that in mind, Intra Games, the Korean distributor for Ubisoft in the region, has revealed what are supposedly the Assassin's Creed Unity system requirements. Bear in mind that there has been no official word from Ubisoft yet on whether these system requirements for AC: Unity are indeed correct, UPDATE: These are now confirmed as official system requirements for AC Unity! If you're interested in seeing the suggested requirements then head on in on to see whether your rig's heading for the guillotine.
Assassin's Creed Unity Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3 GHz or AMD Athlon FX-8350 4.0 GHz
  • RAM: 6GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2GB Graphics Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon HD 7970
  • HDD: 50GB Free Hard Drive Space
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • Audio: DX 9.0c Compatible Sound Card
  • Online: 256 kbps upload bandwidth or higher
Assassin's Creed Unity Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 3GB Graphics Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon R9 290X

UPDATE: These are now confirmed as official Assassins Creed Unity system requirements.
Ladies and gents, we have the highest system requirements for a game yet. While these should be taken with a barrel load of salt, if these are true then Assassin's Creed Unity is truly the most demanding game in existence. The minimum requirements alone are enough to write most PC gamers off, demanding a mammoth GeForce GTX 680 or Radeon HD 7970 backed up by the ever-reliable Intel Core i5-2500K or the Athlon FX-8350. If that wasn't enough there's a 6GB RAM minimum requirement and the now-token 50GB installation size. To put this into perspective, these minimum requirements for Assassin's Creed Unity aren't very far off of the Ultra requirements for Watch Dogs at all.
Inevitably with system requirements this high the recommended requirements for AC: Unity aren't much of a leap up, if that's any small consolation. The processor demands get a bit more intense for Intel, asking for a Core i7-3770, more in line with the AMD FX-8350 which is once more demanded for AMD rigs. Once again top-end graphics card are needed, this time a generation newer and marginally more powerful, but you'll be looking at 3GB VRAM and 8GB RAM to get AC Unity looking its best according to these requirements.
Until official word arrives from Ubisoft these requirements are looking a little ridiculous. The very fact there's such a small difference between Minimum and Recommended suggests there surely should be a little wiggle room toward the lower end. Assassin's Creed Unity is certainly a stunning-looking game but there will surely be plenty of graphical options to tweak to get acceptable performance. We saw with The Evil Within and Ryse: Son of Rome that the requirements were way out, so if you're willing to take a resolution hit then there could still be some joy here.

This Is All BS Just Like it Was With Watch Dogs. Wait For the Game To Come I am Sure It won't require a Freaking GTX 780 or R9 290x.

Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
