Increasing resolution is worth it?

Salam!
Currently I owned Dell 2740L 27" 1080p display and I am thinking of getting a Dell 2713 1440p display,is it worth to change the display resolution,my main use is games and movies...

not really.. unless the contrast ratio and response time and motion rate is better on the other model that you mentioned.you wont notice any difference.

i play games on 1440p on dell u2711 and bro beleive me the difference between 1080p and 1440p is noticeable..you get a much sharper image and clear picture as compared to 1080p..so go for 1440p but you will need quite a good gpu to handle games at that resolution..good luck.

sorry i totally forgot about the gaming.i movies trust me u wont notice the difference.but when it comesd to gaming the higher the resolution the better it is.so if ure a gamer then go for it..

Native resolution will always look good be it 1080 720 or 1440. That said IF you have capable hardware gaming quality will improve if you dont have capable hardware you will get a frame hit and its not really worth it.

When choosing resolution u also have to consider size of display and viewing distance

1920x1080 is a suitable resolution for 20 to 24 inch monitors while and starts to stretch thin on 27 inch

Like wise on 17 to 19 inch monitors 1920x1080 becomes very hard to differentiate from 1680x1050
