The thing about FAST is that you may regret it for the first year and you have a 50% chance of failing ITC, your first C programming course. When you have passed through that and the real computing courses begin then you will meet the much better teachers of FAST and they are much better, with a few exceptions who will not be named by me but other Karachi Fastians will know.
As far as ECAs are concerned, FAST has many and they host an event called PROCOM every year. That is a very very big event, Imran Khan came for it as a guest when I was in my first or second semester. Almost all responsibility of executing the event is on the students divided into various groups for different tasks, like a Marketing group , Security group, a Catering group, groups for various events in Procom. For sports there is Sportics, there is a gym and a sports room(never been to either due to work and generally not being interested in these things but it exists) and there are several other competitions and events.
My advice is if you want to do CS, then FAST is the best option but be prepared to work hard and be prepared to fail a few times, only to repeat that subject and get much better, and transport will be a problem but I come by private car and if my classes for the day end early, I do drop people off uptil Quaidabad on the way back home and several other people do the same.
im definitely not going to waste my 4-5 hours daily on roads so no fast, i don't need any job after completing bs so what i need are good teachers, reputation doesn't really matters for me

i have two options either iba or suffa

For University students in Lahore: I wanted to ask you to rate FAST and LUMS for their CS programs. I am in A2 and I got admission in LUMS. What would be ur choice? which university offers a better bachelor experience and add to that the jobs as well.

Then, Suffa could be good. It does have good teachers from FAST including Sir Hammad and Sir Imran Jami, both were very well respected in FAST and I know Sir Hammad had a reputation among his students of being a very good teacher.
For IBA, it could be good but it would be better to ask actual IBA CS students.

I have decided to ditch FAST in favour for IBA. Good teaching staff doesn't really matter for me, to be completely honest. I mean, come on, it's computer science. Whatever they have to teach you, it is available on the internet in profusion, and I have already learned a lot.

The CS faculty at LUMS is very very good (Dr. Umar Saif, Dr. Sohaib etc.). The CS programme is highly competitive and they also focus a lot on R&D.
The exposure one would receive being a student of LUMS would be at an altogether different level.

No, its not available on the internet. You may get useful books, tutorials and some other stuff but you need proper direction and focus. You need to know what is important and what isn't in terms of both your knowledge and your marks and trust me CS is not a joke, not even in IBA. A good teacher can make an otherwise hard subject easy. Two examples from my own university, Computer Architecture and Theory of Automata students from even 2 years behind our batch were in those subjects with us and not all were just idiots, some just got unlucky and ended up with teachers who probably knew the subjects very well but they didn't know how to teach it. My batch got better teachers so they did much better.
On the other hand I got unlucky in two subjects. I respect those teachers, I respect their knowledge and I know I must have done something wrong too but when half their class is failing at least some of the blame is on them.

Programming is just the beginning, every good university will knock that out in 2 courses, the rest you have to learn for yourself. Then there are several other subjects that I can guarantee you can't learn from the internet alone.
And you may think that A levels gives you an edge, but it doesn't. I did A levels too and the top students in my batch are from Inter. And on the same topic, this is not A levels, the papers aren't checked by someone else following a standardized pattern, this is University, the papers, assignments and projects are checked by the teachers in whatever manner they want one teacher may give you a 7/10 for one partially correct answer another will give 5 or less, some will listen to complains about marking others will ignore completely.

I'm considering IBA or NED for Computer science. FAST is way too far.
I have heard negative things about NED's CS. I also have the same reason for dropping FAST. I chose IBA after talking to the students there. You can apply there in October/November, I think, since July's test is done (which I gave).

FAST is the better choice imo. Quite a few people end up joining the CS program at IBA just because they dont get into the BBA program (The test is the same, the cutoff for CS is lower).
This is definitely not true. Both tests are held on different days and both of them vary considerably. CS's test is based on SAT I and SAT II - Mathematics I and II, while BBA's test is based on SAT I alone. Actually, CS and BS Economics and Mathematics have the same test.
