I think it was the Giantbomb GOTY debate or maybe the Easy Allies one. They were talking about how the turn-based combat in LAD lacks depth, and is the weakest part of the game. -

and not tied to the baggage of 7 previous Yakuza games makes it a great entry for newcomers or people who haven't played every single game in the franchise -

I will give it my 100% recommendation. It is as charming, if not more so, than Judgment in terms of lore, world building and especially characters.

to be fair one window in MGS 4 was running a scripted Vamp/Raiden fight. Medium seems to have active game play with RT and individual full screen effects in both of its windows, so its a lot more ambitious
