Today I’ll be focusing on REEVEN’s latest fully metal encased Fan controller called Polariz Fan Controller (RFC-04). A tri-channel fan controller specifically design for passionate gamers and rig builders who really wanted something aesthetic and cleaned look. Fan controllers allows users to monitor and control the fans without using programs or in worst cases using BIOS.
Reeven Says about Controller:
POLARIZ is a stylish fan controller with a design concept similar to that of a car dashboard.
Using the big knob fans can be controlled individually. The big display conveniently displays all important information needed by users.
Its 30W power output is suitable for most fans on the market, and the metal housing gives the controller a solid structure and elegant design.
REEVEN have history of quality products, with number of features you won’t find in any other brand at said price range. Recent REEVEN POLARIZ fan controller is built of metal and encased in metal object, that’s one noticeable differential factor between Four eyes and Polariz. However, fully enclosed Fan controller definitely be a plus for Users in terms of safety and security.
Polariz fan controller is featured with 3 channel fan support, 3 channel temperature sensor probe, and consuming 36W max with DC input of 2.5V per channel with no fan speed range. The product dimension’s about (W) 148 x (H) 42.5 x (D) 98mm while it weighing at 330g. The front knobs are black and steel rolled at corners.
It must be a good induction in REEVEN fan controller list, however, does it really worth $52.99 since we already reviewed their Four Eyes Fan Controller which was impressive presentation of maneuverability and design. To be honest, I cannot make any product fit for you, but I can help in process deciding in choices. Let’s find out Polariz potential in real world.
Package & The Content
The Packaging is no contradicting from last shipment in regards to Four Eyes Fan Touch Controller. The only thing making difference is Controller itself. Of course, we are reviewing different model.
Inside the box, I have Controller itself, wires and packaging foam.
The zip plastic envelope contain 4 screws for installing Controller in case, Temperature probes and 3 pin fan wires.
manual in included in the package containing step by step procedure to install and use Polariz controller.
The Closer Look
However we have to see the connector more closely. The front side is absolutely beauty. The Controller knobs are aesthetically build with metal.
REEVEN Decided to enhance and make more clarity on their Logo registered on controller. They have used White Logo instead of fully black.
The top side is fully metal and enclosed by using screws on front corners.
The engineering part can be shown from here, displaying fan channels and temperature probe. While switch on top right for changing parameters such as Degrees in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
I tested the fan controller using 3 fans, consisting of 2x Corsair Blue LED 1000rpm and 1x Cryorig QF 120mm rated speed at 2200rpm. While PSU’s SATA cable is used to Power ON the controller.
While the Polariz is new induction in Fan controller’s line up, it comes with Voltage feature as well. By default Fan controller actually showing DC in put Volts for specific Fan into their respective Knob. The fan speed in RPM and Temperature in Celcius is same.
- Aesthetically looking Knobs
- Fully enclosed
- Additional Voltage monitoring
- Competitive Price
- Solid Build
- Only 3 Fans support
A metal covered Fan controller, enclosed fully with metal plate upside down. The whole controller is absolutely top notch in build quality, that I must have to admit since I am experiencing it right now. With the dimension of Width 148 and height 42.5 mm it can easily be placed in any Gaming case. Solid looking controller carries special knobs for each fan allows users to control every fan according to their will.
Comes to operational part, I believe REEVEN did great job in designing the Polariz. However, there are few constraints I pointed out while testing Fan controller. The front knobs are actually need to roll down to increase the Fan speed which generally shown on Knobs in RPM. The Knobs needs to roll down more than I expected, I did knobs many turns to make it effect changes on speed. Secondly, the response time is not really fast, it takes very short period of time to imitate operation on instructions forward by knobs. If I give a rough idea, it takes about 2-4 seconds to initiate the fan speed jump. However, that’s not any problem, you will have fan speed change within few seconds. The knobs at front actually really nice addition and to be honest these 3 knobs adding bunch of beauty to controller. While running it gives a solid aesthetic look that no other piece of controller can display.
This beautiful controller is priced at $52.99 at Newegg.com . Polariz have exceptionally solid build to say the least. 3 controlling knobs are Eye-Candy to watch especially when operations are running. The information displayed in White color on LCD looking perfect for cool rigs. The front knobs itself are unique and perfectly suited for black cases. If you’re looking for controller having stylish look and displays major information on Fan cooling under $60, Polariz should be on your buying list.
