Choosing a Cooling heatsink for CPU could be difficult in high competitive market, especially when prices are competitive. Different features, different design influence consumer’s decision greatly. We have seen several popular Brand names in Cooling solution industry. While there is a Name which may not be completely known to every region but it is existing and definitely have potential to challenge its rivals. I am referring to REEVEN, a newly established cooling manufacturer who has been engaged in manufacturing some top notch heatsinks that presently are competing in the market.
To be honest, this is my first ever REEVEN product’s review. But I am very excited to try this product out to see the potential and to compare with our list of coolers. The unique element is Reeven cooling have distinguish Fan color scheme over others. Reeven Ouranos 1401 CPU cooler – 140mm Heatsink fan with 1700rpm fan speed. Its uniqueness reminds me of Noctua Cooling color scheme and design – a different in look but best in performance. Reeven somehow following the similar strategy.
Moreover, Reeven Ouranos RC 1401 supports up to 2011 Intel socket.
OURANOS is the CPU cooler with 140mm quiet PWM fan, it is easy to upgrade to maximum efficiency with 2nd fan. Long-shape AL fin allows maximum heat dissipation. Slim structure without conflicting with RAM zone gives wide range of compatibility. 6 high-quality heatpipes guarantees superior performance.’
Reeven is charging $49.99 for this tower Heatsink. However, we have yet to analyze its performance if justifying its price when similar coolers are available in the market at almost similar prices.
Package and the Content
Package comes in official Box. A green color scheme box with info on it.
Some additional content on other sides of box
Inside the box, Reeven Heat sink and fan attached to his left panel. Heat sink is of silver solid color while 140mm PWM fan.
A Closer Look
By the look of Heatsink, it seems an entry level. But I can tell you its way better than looks. Of course, can’t be better than other high end coolers. Finishing was plain and solid. The Fins are nicely build and spacing for proper airflow. Yellow fan color doing a contrasting effect on the whole product. But would do awesome with yellow theme background.
Test Setup & Performance
Overview of Testing method
- Temperature test run Prime95 and AIDA64 CPU stress Tests
- All the test run long for about 10 minutes
- 4x case Fans are used for additional airflow
- Single cooling temperature test comprises with 3 different clock rate.
- Ambient Temperature between 30C-34C
Program used for Evaluating Performance
- RealTemp – For Monitoring Temperatures
- HWiNFO32 – For Monitoring Temperatures and voltages
- AI Suite III – For Controlling and Monitoring Fan Speed
- Prime95 version 25.11 – For Max Load
- AIDA64 Extreme 4.7 – For Typical Load
Usually, CPU cooler is tested under dedicated testing environment. I take typical setup that usually used for cooling solutions. Reeven Ouranos 1401 basically runs little louder at 100% but the results are satisfactory. Ran Prime95 for about 10 minutes and end result is better than expected. At 100% prime95 load, CPU able to limit to 71C when overclocked to 4.2GHz. which seemingly closest to noctua NH U14S cooling and better than Cryorig H7 in our comparison charts. Reeven Ouranos really impressed me with its effective performance scale over its counterparts.
Final Words & Conclusion
- Blazing cooling performance
- 6 Heat pipes
- Competitive Price
- Limitless RAM compatibility
- Rare Yellow Fan combination
Reeven did pretty good job on making a Tower based air cooler that ended up killer of equivalent Coolers. Embedded Reeven logo on Top showcasing a fabulous look while it installed in Gaming Rig. 6 heatpipes are staggering inside the heatsink and on metal surface to other end. From quality and design, it’s no less than a high end air cooling.
From performance point of view, a prevalent factor influencing the performance is heat pipes equaling Noctua U14S that I tested earlier this month. I would not say that its performance smashes everything out of park. But I will state, this new induction comes from nowhere to place its identity in the cooling arena. Reeven Ouranos RC 1401 run through different thermal testing programs. Prime95 maxed out load on i5 4670K which produces 60C while at 4.2GHz temperatures maxed out to 71C, marginally behind to noctua NH-U14S Celsius performance at 4.2GHz in our charts. Meanwhile, at stock clocks Reeven Ouranos behind by 2C. Reeven cooler did efficient job on handling the heat, especially at overclocking Reeven seems a solid candidate for any gamer’s rig.
This cooler is retailing at $49.99 at amazon, considering the performance I would say the price justifying the performance. Hence, worth spending those bucks. The only concern when choosing this cooler is Yellow color scheme fan. Which may not be every gamer’s preference these days. However, If your motherboard is themed at yellow and black and with Reeven’s coldwing 14 fans, this distinguish color scheme will terminate the odd factor.
