Whaaaaaaaaattt !!!!! You have got to be kidding me dude. thats just insane.. they just copied one of xbox's worst aspect.
Yup. I really hope this gets sorted out over the next few firmware updates. They've been pretty rare so far, and haven't fixed any of the issues people have been reporting, such as PS5 turning off while in rest mode. Haven't encountered this issue personally, but I know a few people who have and it's often brought up on various forums.

''...if you look at the games, I've got a XSX and I love it, I have a PS5 and I love it, I play my PS5 because of the loads of exclusives games that I don't have on the XSX and when you look at the XBOX...XBOX has a lot of amazing studios and these games are coming but, I've had few conversations with friends at XBOX Games Studios and those games they announced, Everwild, Perfect Dark, Fable are so far away, as in, they might even be in a new XBOX by the time these games come out(jokingly of course lol), they are so far away and when you look at the Hideo Kojima stuff you wonder if they are signing third parties in the moment because they don't have a line-up of big exclusives at all''

We have always believed that our AMD FidelityFX family of effects should be accessible: truly open source, free to modify, highly optimized, and cross-platform.

The adoption of AMD FidelityFX amongst game developers, integrating the technologies into more than 40 PC game titles, has validated our belief that having these available in this way was the correct choice when launched back in 2019. It was always intended that this would allow for easier integration by developers who needed to ship on consoles as well as PC.

Today, we are very happy to announce that AMD FidelityFX is now available for Xbox!

This news makes it even easier than before to write cross-platform games, with developers able to access select AMD FidelityFX effects with specific optimizations for Windows® and Xbox. Game developers can now utilize further platform-specific optimizations with AMD FidelityFX, straight from the Xbox Series X|S Game Development Kit.
This development is very exciting to all at AMD who have worked to deliver these effects into the hands of even more developers – and we will continue to strive for our highly optimized effects to be at the forefront of cross-platform game development.

Xbox Game Developers interested in getting started with AMD FidelityFX can do so with the latest Game Development Kit (GDK), where samples for Contrast Adaptive Sharpening, Variable Shading, and Raytraced Shadow Denoiser technologies are available.

For more information, see our content over at Microsoft® Game Stack Live, including the following sessions:

  • "Denoising Raytraced Soft Shadows on Xbox Series X|S and Windows with FidelityFX" details the implementation of the AMD FidelityFX Denoiser, and optimizations which benefit both Xbox Series X|S and PC.
  • "AMD Ryzen™ Processor Software Optimization" dives into CPU internals across multiple Zen generations to uncover best practices for your projects.
Yik...I mean, yay? lol

Is FidelityFX AMD's version of DLSS ?
Not yet, but super resolution is planned as a future addition to the suite of FidelityFx features. If it requires dedicated ML hardware, it'll probably only be supported on the Series X, as the PS5 doesn't have dedicated ML hardware.

Similarly, the PS5 doesn't have dedicated hardware to handle VRS, while the Series X does.

Other features like adaptive sharpening and RT shadow denoiser should be supported on the PS5 dev kit. Sony may also be working on its own APIs for these things.
