What's the deal with getting EA Access on PlayStation?

I though I could just get 12 months of EA Access using the money in my PS wallet, turns out you need a credit card to be registered on your device, first.

Is there a way to get EA Access on PS4, without me needing an active US based credit card or PayPal?

From all the info on Amazon of the EA Access subscription card you still need a valid credit card on file to redeem the EA Access code

    I tried playing Apex Legends once. Couldn't find a gun for 5 minutes straight. If I found a gun, I couldn't find the right ammo for it. Got killed fighting with my fists. Uninstalled it the next day.
