Hot damn SX is running the game like a champ. 1900~p at a 100% locked 60 FPS.

The next gen patch has big shoes to fill.

Nope, better textures, draw distance, AO etc from the One X version going by DF and better texture filtering via BC (16x if not mistaken). Average of 1600p~1800p going by VGTech. And running at 100% locked 60 FPS.

This $499 machine is punching way above it's weight here folks.

Probably one of the best ways to play the last good game CDPR made.

Maybe in Quality mode which runs at 30fps. Either way it doesn't match the highest preset on PC which additionally has Hairworks and HBAO+ as well.

Wouldn't be surprised if the ray tracing mode is limited to 30fps again on current gen consoles given how even Series X is dropping to 1350p on last gen settings.

but there is no patch, just the last great CDPR game running on $499 hardware punching way above it's weight on equivalent PC specs

The only thing One X never got was hair works, otherwise it has the same visual set as Pro, which included HBAO+.

And the only thing the performance mode lacks in-turn is higher grade shadows, otherwise it's visual set is identical to the resolution mode.

Yeah no...consoles don't have HBAO+. The "improved" SSAO over base version is the result of higher resolution since its a screen space effect that scales with resolution. No HBAo+ in action and draw distances don't come anywhere near PC Ultra.

Now at launch, PC offered better alternatives including horizon-based ambient occlusion - a more refined, flicker-free approach. And so that's seemingly what we get on PS4 Pro with the patch installed; PC's better HBAO setting, giving subtler, more realistic pockets of shade.

PC's top settings boast superior textures. Look across the ground here, and PS4 Pro still runs with lower-grade assets, despite a move to better texture filtering with the patch installed.

However, Pro's memory constraints see no upgrade in texture quality - an area where the PC shines. Additionally, shadow resolution, draw distance and foliage density still see the PC game take point as the ideal version.

Lets see if current patch can match the Ultra preset and do ray tracing at 60fps. HBAO+ and Hairworks are still likely off the table.

It works on AMD but the performance hit is higher than on Nvidia. A game already struggling to do 30fps on consoles makes sense to omit it altogether.

Yar ap to sahi revisionist history bana rahe ho ..

HBAO bhi hai aur better textures bhi ap mano ya na mano. HBAO+ to even PS4 Pro mai bhi tha, One X added higher resolution textures on top because of it's higher RAM pool.

The Witcher 3 looks good. It's going to look double-plus good on the Xbox One X when the X1X Enhanced patch drops soon... very, VERY soon.

Pro has, but One X added better textures owing to its 4GB more RAM. Ab wo version SX pe punch above its weight kar raha hai saeen. HBAO+ to at least Pro se hai. The only thing the consoles don't do is hair works, which is an entirely useless feature anyway

Being better than what was previously there doesn't mean it is matching PC Ultra textures, as DF pointed out.

Not only was Hairworks applied to Geralt but enemies as well. Ab jo feature nahi mil rahe woh useless hi lagge ge.

Not a good sign if even Series X has to drop to sub 1440p levels on last gen settings.

I think it's a great sign if unoptimized last gen code runs at average of 1600~1800p at let's say PC equivalent high graphics setting, maybe even Ultra, we simply don't know, at 100% locked 60 FPS.

Not bad and a proper next gen patch should only make it equivalent with even more new features, depending on the competency of the porting studio.

But we do know. Foliage distance, grass density, textures and assets are not matching PC at its highest setting. So last gen enhanced consoles are mix of High/Medium at best. Even then, the dynamic scaler drops to 1350p to maintain 60fps at these settings. One would imagine the Series X would have enough power to brute force a higher resolution at last gen settings.

What we don't know is the extent of the upgrades. But consoles are clearly having a tough time with ray tracing and 60fps.
