I don't think they are throttling the speeds, it is because of that cable fault imo.

Well that is what ptcl wants us to believe by using "Trickery".
You can test this theory by downloading a file from 2-3 different servers by using "Single Link Connection" at peak hours 7-11pm and than compare it to non peak time like for example 7am in the morning.
Also you can if you have "Netflix" account you can 100% confirm that they are throttling speed because in morning you will get 1080p on "Microsoft Edge" but on peak hours you will get 480p easily and 720p after watching 2min of netflix... its complicated but i think customers of ptcl should be aware of what they are not getting for even after paying 6720rs per month...
Apart from this there is a mysteries issue of (Some ip pools having better routing and streaming speed, less delays in online games). Why would such a difference exist in different ip pools...why not optimize every single ip pool and make them all have same quality... instead of we (Customers) restarting our modems in hope for getting a better ip waste our precious time and money on a trash service that is so unreliable... !!!
why why we get 2.1MB/sec on 25Mbps connection on torrent instead of 3.2MB/sec.
and 3.7MB/sec on same torrent on 50Mbps connection. why there is a strange difference in speeds (when there is whole 1.1MB/sec more available on 25Mbps connection)... meh this ptcl ...

Think it all depend on your line condition i am on fiber and there is no such thing as throttling on 25Mbps con i get 25 down 25 up
you are facing throttling according to you is bec at peak time normal cables are getting chocked bec number of users

As evening started, the speed of internet also deteriorated. Plus, a new thing happened today that even PTCL's own IPTV service is also showing lag and breaking of off videos and audio.Totally disappointed.

i cant play apex legends , it says code:leaf when i try going in match.
its ptcl issue only stormfiber users can play without problem.

Just called 1218 again and they said they wont upgrade because u have disconnection in last 24 hours.
I told them that those disconnections were on purpose and not caused by the line condition.
(did on purpose to get 182.x.x.x pool IP because netflix runs on [1080p] "using Microsoft Edge" only on that pool)
(on 39.x.x.x and 119.x.x.x pool netflix runs on 240p and 360p... super weird #ITS PTCL)
But they dont have a system advance enough to understand the bit complicated reason and the problem...
Now because of super poor streaming of netflix on PTCL i am thinking about switching to another ISP...
My line stats are not what they should be "Mini Exchange thingy" is few streets away and they installed new copper wires from that exchange to all poles including the one i am connected to... so i was expecting atleast 70mbps upload. tho download is fine but when there is power cut downstream goes up to 140mbps Strangely

Warid / Jazz are affected worse than PTCL because Jazz uses TW which is affected the worst by this outage.

After using stormfiber since September 2017 and I still kept my PTCL connection at 6mbps for backup purposes and got stormfiber due to TV services using same cabling for my home for analogue TVs and got fiber optic connection.

These are the cons of stormfiber to me so far since double NAT:

1. The changes of double NAT throwing a wrench in IP services for cameras etc alongside online game hosting of mine with old games, most don't even play except for few online friends.
2. Now this fair usage policy out of nowhere to suspend/downgrade my account and no margin of error and that limit of 1TB on all packages including 100mbps connections.
3. Alongside the rates compared with PTCL, PTCL have now better rates when comparing 25mbps and above packages to Stormfiber's 20mbps and above packages.
4. PTCL smart app for digital TV's work very well.
5. Stormfiber have more lag due to unknown thing for me. I have played direct IP games and public servers. Stormfibers have more lag than PTCL. Specially when self hosted games even though I used to host games on 1 mb upload and 8mp download connection. I still have PTCL to compare and it was the same.

Pros of stormfiber:

1. So far always getting fixed in time, even though PTCL also get fixed in time for me. More like less breakdowns compared to PTCL.
2. Digital tv channel range is good. But I haven't even checked the whole of PTCL smart TV. Nor of it's device.

Thus the day I get proper excuse or anything else I will be getting rid of stormfiber.
I am currently paying Rs. 1980/= for 6mbps connection of PTCL and it is not unlimited thus lower rate + Rs. 2641/= for triple play 10 mbps for stormfiber per month. Total price of Rs. 4621/= . I would be opting to go for 25mbps of PTCL when I leave Stormfiber, it would only cost me Rs. 4224/= only and better package(I am getting 2TB monthly Fair usage policy limit from PTCL FUP) compared to Stormfiber 20mbps at Rs. 3960/=.

Looks like you have more issues with SF than with PTCL...

I don't like PTCL either, but in this case (upstream issue), all networks in Pakistan were handicapped, from what I gathered.

Im getting capped upload speeds on google drive, whenever i try uploading a file the speed jumps up to 500KBps then drops to 270KBps then jumps up again and then drops to 270KBps again so i think its capped at 2Mb upload. Im on 15mbps vdsl so i should get around 8mb upload speed. Is there any way to fix this?
