Well O/A Levels are coming up and many students need help regarding various subjects,so I decided to make this thread.

This thread is solely for people who are appearing in O/A Levels and need help.I see that everyday new threads are made for help regarding O/A levels and that increases the thread count in the Chit Chat Cafe.This is the thread for all O/A Levels related questions and answers.

You can post your questions here and Pg members who are done with their O/A Levels and members who are appearing in O/A Levels can help you out.


The following things should be listed in your first post in this thread so that we can help you out:

dude please spare us, after a long day at college i come to pg to read something other than studies, they are important i know but chit chat cafe is getting ridiculous since we already have another thread, then someone will come and make a matric/fsc thread, then an undergrad thread and so on and this what im taking a stand against. i know you're trying to contribute to PG but i dont think people come here for this sort of help, we have career advisors for this. its a gaming forum for God's sake let it stay that way.

Its simple...you dont like it...dont look at it....ur opinion doesnt change the fact that people need help

Tips on Urdu would be appreciated. I suck at Urdu.

URDU is an easy A....just study for it and ull do good....believe me an easy A and the Alevels is easier

Same here, giving AS LEVEL biology, physics, maths and chemistry. Which books are you using for bio, chem and physics? Went to any academy? Olevel grades?

I dont know why my post has been deleted. By the way, do you have experiences of people who messed up either of their sciences papers or language papers but still managed As?

EDIT: Removed assault.

That said. Yes. I do know a lot of people who had their papers messed up and still managed an A. A's threshold boundary is 80 percenTILE and is not hard to achieve. A hard paper per region means more chances of A's for those who had less bad papers since the boundary difference would be really high. This is usually the case for languages. For sciences, it's hard to judge, as the papers, especially the paper 1, 2 and 4/6 combo (NOT 3) for O Levels is very, very scoring and thus obtaining 100% RAW marks isn't that high.

Does anyone have a clue on where the grade thresholds generally lie for phy, chem and maths?

A* - 90% and above
A - 80% to 89 %
B - 70% to 79%
C - 60% to 69%
D - 50% to 59%
E - 40% to 49%


vaisay jokes apart, if you don't know this by now, I don't have very good news for you. I'm assuming you haven't thoroughly gone through the complete syllabus. I recommend you download the syllabi for the subjects you're giving and read as to WHAT type of answer they want in the particular question. Most of the students who get bad results despite giving the prep their max are those who hadn't read through the syllabus at all, or read very little of it and hadn't prepared to what was needed.

yar i am completely in touch with the syllabus. Right after mentioning these percentages, the syllabus states that these percentages do not represent the actual raw marks attained by the student. This is where the grade thresholds come in to play which vary year to year. Sort of like percentile. So i wanted a clue as to where the grade thresholds actually lie.
