Now that's interesting!

Guess money talks. And even though both companies are loaded, the Chinese are relentless.

Let's hope they're actually doing something as well on the network upgrades-side (VoLTE, 256QAM etc.) as well.

Edit: I don't understand Telenor and their move to acquire 15Mhz in 2100Mhz... when the rest of the country is already starved in their signals (and signal quality). But this also shows that they're here to stay - they just have some wacko strategy which none of us understand, understood, and will probably understand (understind?)

We can never understand Telenor LOL
I dont know why Zong is not launching VOLTE as they are really competing with Jazz.

Ufone played smart in AJK auctions. they have 8.8 MHz spectrum in 1800 MHz block. So they applied only for 1.2 MHz in 1800 MHz to make their spectrum 10 MHz. They can refarm 5 MHz out of 10 MHz for 4G and skip 3G since there is no demand of 3G in 2021 and every one has 4G smartphone.

Telenor played smartest, they only applied 1.2 MHz in 1800 MHz, so that they can launch 4G even if they lost 2100 MHz. meanwhile they also realized that no one is going after 2100 MHz, so they applied 15 MHz of 2100 MHz to get it on base price because they knew that Zong and Jazz will go aggressively for 1800 MHz. So now they can launch 3G and 4G both for 10 MHz each, or 5 MHz for 2100 MHz 3G and 15 MHz for 10+5 MHz of 2100+1800 MHz. Or full 20 MHz for 4G. In either case they are now in full capacity to launch NGMS in AJK unlike in Pakistan.

Zong played aggressive, they applied 1.2 MHz for 1800 MHz to secure 4G spot. They also decided to go after full 10 MHz of 1800 MHz and grab it at any cost, and they defeated Jazz in full 10 MHz of 1800 MHz premium 4G band with their deep pockets. So its going to be Zong vs Telenor in AJK for 4G battle along with SCO.

Jazz played dumb, They didn't even bother to apply for 1.2 MHz of 1800 MHz which they can get in smallest amount, but due to their dumbness, it went unsold. And they kept all of their eggs in one basket of 10 MHz of 1800 MHz which they lost to Zong.

there are also rumors that Pakistan and Etisalat has decided to sale their shares in Ufone to a 3rd party or a new entrant. getting 4G spectrum in this latest auction was intentional to make Ufone a lucrative deal since Spectrum fee is going from one pocket to another of the Govt. which has 76% shares in Ufone. Either Telenor or Zong is going to be potential buyer because with lowest ARPU in the region and only 10-12 % market share, it would be difficult for Govt to search a buyer from outside the market.

The difference between Telenor's subscribers and Zong's are little - I know many Karachiites who have Telenor and Ufone, so they probably stand to gain the most from this.

Ufone generally has dense urban coverage (3G) and they recently scored some additional spectrum in 4G, so whoever gets Ufone now will probably benefit more than the Jazz+Warid acquimerger. If Telenor buys Ufone, they can at least get their urban coverage at par (or some par). If Zong gets them, they'll be able to increase their spectrum holdings.

Zong has around 40 million customers. Telenor has 49 million. Ufone is around 22 million. Maybelink has around 71 million. You can do the Game Theory yourselves.

Should be fun.

I would like to see Zong+Ufone. Zong and Jazz with equal customers will trigger market competition. I don't know but Telenor's decision making in Pakistan is very much odd and I fear they will still mess up even after Ufone acquisition. Zong has money, Zong has ambitions and Zong is playing aggressive in Pakistan since 2014 NGMS auction. Only thing I do not understand is what they are waiting for in VoLTE matter? Probably Android 12 because they have provided google their VoLTE IMS settings. But that's my idea

Oh okay my bad. i am really confused. Samsung devices are really overpriced compared to their specs. I am using One Plus 7T right now. Dont know what to do? Any advice?
Wait untill android 12. As soon as it arrives, flash custom rom. If it worked than keep oneplus otherwise sale oneplus. Or you can buy Redmi Note 10 Pro or Mi 11 lite 4G

I really don't know why dont they launch VoLTE for all the compatible handsets?
It has more to do with the manufacturers than the telco themselves in my experience. Our telcos don't exactly have great linkages with them and they don't really care as well as the contract phone market is non-existent.
They announced VoLTE a few years back. Now, this.
Yup, they launched on their telenor branded shit phone.
