Can anyone give me a general idea on how to and what to do in the Physics and Chemistry ATP paper?
It's O-levels btw!
Also what the hell is the General Paper?
Do lots of past papers (the past 5 years are enough).

If you have a lab in your school, ask them to arrange practicals for you and do it [mostly useful for Physics and Bio]. Chem ATP is mostly theoretical knowledge.
Practice the Chem ATP. The Salt Formations and Analysis and Moles should be on your fingertips. Once you get that 100% right, I can assure you, you'll ace the ATP.

I have a few questions i would like to ask everyone, more on the lines of advice or tips actually:

Let me Begin by filling you in on the situation.

2) This is a bit important, i have not attended 2 years of school preparation ( more or less have not even attended even 30 days of those 2 years ), and have not started serious preparation as of yet, Now before you go on criticizing my unpractical and careless attitude i will have you know that i am ALSO on the SIDELINES doing hifz from a popular institution so naturally for those who know and realize the gravity of my situation of Doing O-levels ALONG with hifz, they can understand, My question in regards to this is that i need advice on how to properly prepare ( i need to complete 2 years of the syllabus in 2.5 months ) for the CIE Exams, namely every subject; English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Maths, How much time each day should i give to my studies, also if you could, a bit of confidence boosting will also be appreciated, also i plan to NOT TAKE ANY TUITIONS, i will study for them ON MY OWN like i did for my 1st year subjects for which i also did not take any specific help.

3) Which school should i look forward to for an admission in; My personal choice is Lyceum, i go to a madressa and would like to refrain from the ' party mahol ' present in places like nixor.

4) Do the A level institutes offer special recognition to students doing Hifz, they do in Universities, i just want to know if they do in A level colleges, like for example, nixor offers Attendance exceptions to their students doing Hifz.

My current grades are A*, A, B ( A* in pakstudies, A in islamiat, B in Urdu ).

Why not use redspot past papers? Other than that which past papers should I do?
You're in the final year, right?
I don't recommend/strongly NOT recommend the redspot ones because a) most of the answers are on the old syllabus and marking patterns b) the 'topicals' are not good for preparation if you're in the final year c) there's no reason to get them.

Just get the normal, unsolved CIE past papers. Go to any bookshop or specialized past papers shop. There are many in Lahore. Not sure about them in Karachi, but they do exist there too. Get the unsolved CIE papers along with the marking schemes. Once you can interpret these and solve them, they're miles better than the Redspot ones.

Secondly, these are needed to prepare you for the finals. You won't have the answer on the right bar with you in the finals. Even a slight PEEK to the answer is what KILLS. Literally, KILLS. Be honest with yourself, and THIS is the time to make mistakes, than to get exaggerated scores and come down in the finals.

This all applies to the final year students though, who have completed all their syllabi

So you're trying to say that you got a C in your project but still got an A in computer studies Cool man. In which year did you give the paper?

And do you know the grades of the those students in computer studies, whose projects you've also uploaded?

I've got a 90/100, 19/20, 18/20, 17/20 in my assessments and exams. I continue studying and I've also gotten 10/10 in questions. Will I be able to get a A* for Islamiyat? I hope so, since I never ratafy but try to understand it.

And how should you memorise the reference numbers. I usually do remember a few but during the exams, I realized it was pretty hard to keep remembering them....

P.S. I've heard that CIE my remove the reference numbers. Is it true?

Also, my chemistry teacher isn't good at all. I've been bugging her to explain me moles since I never understood how she used the unitary method to find how much mass is needed for xxx mass of moles. I need a better teacher D:

Best teacher : Internet. I studied all my O Level Chemistry using google :ninja:

Anyway. If you ask me, those marks mean nothing towards your final grades. Nothing at all. Most teachers don't know how to check and mark the papers themselves.

And I'd say just screw the number. Write the Surah name and that's more than enough. Been there, done that. (sm1)

I say give Islamiat your full attention, it is the hardest of the subjects in the first year, it may seem real easy, but getting an A in islamiat is REALLY hard, atleast very few people got A's and A*'s from my school ( i got an A )

As for the grades, they don't matter, just make sure you memorize the material given in the books and it should be real easy there is no specific pattern to answer your question.

REFERENCES ARE NECESSARY!!!!!!!!!, atleast, they make a good impression; as for the references number, the Most ideal would be ( Surah Name, Surah number|verse number ), like " Obey Allah and his messenger " ( Surah Nisa; 4:59 ), that is the most IDEAL, what is acceptable is that you just quote the surah name which is far easier, i filled my paper with verses; people said that since i am doing HIFZ it is real easy for me to quote verses on the spot, though that was a bunch of balony since doing HIFZ and quoting verses is VERY DIFFERENT. as for a technique to memorize them: there is none, the verses just came to me and i quoted them, some may be good at it, and some.. well, they BECAME good at it, you just have to figure out which one you fit in.

Precisely. If you aren't good at it, you HAVE to become good at it. It's not a choice.

As far as the verse number is concerned, the numbers aren't needed. I just wrote one reference number out of a lot of quotes (had a paper that literally demanded for them :( ). People who say that A*s and As are impossible without the numbers are, aptly put it, bullshitting. I've got an A* and I assure you, I wrote just ONE reference number. It's better to NOT write the number than to write it incorrect. Though they don't negatively mark it, they wont positively credit it either.

As far as the references learning is concerned, make a list of the relevant quotes and HAND WRITE them down. Then read them a few times and try to reproduce them without looking. Do this to perfection and you'll learn em in no time. I made a list, and even tcs-ed it to one of the PG members here some time ago, the list I made for my finals, with aroudn 60-70 odd Quranic referneces. Ahadith are very, very easy to learn, and the ones in the syllabus mostly cover the questionable aspects that may call for a quote.

Oh, and make ABSOLUTELY sure that you DO NOT mention the Surahs given in Q1 as a part of the references EVER in paper 1, and the Ahadith in Paper 2. NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER ever.

Just skip the reference. It's just 3 Surahs. It's more than likely that you have learnt many others that will fit there.

Back to the reference number, if you can learn it and are confident, good. If not, just skip it. If you remember the Surah name (very easy to remember), just write in the end -(Surah al ____ : Al Quran). If you can't even write that, just write -Al Quran for the Quranic, and -Imam Muslim/Bukhari/Tirmizi for the Ahadith (interesting part, you can use either name, though the most prominent narrator is preferred. None of the three are wrong for any given Hadith unless specified in the book.)
