Deadpool 2....................(8.5/10) watched at Vox Cinema, Dubai. I would say it was an improvement from the first part, the usual crazy Deadpool jokes and Juggernaut was badass! Must watch for Deadpool fans!

Tomb Raider....................(8/10) watched in HD, I think Angelina Jolie portrayed Lara Croft perfectly but Alicia Vikander took a lot of beating so she looked good as well, movie overall was nice, good for time pass!

Tomb Raider (2018)

Just like how the Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider was inspired by the earlier games of that era, this one is inspired by the 2013 Reboot game. It's not THAT adaptation which will finally show how video game movies can be GREAT or anything like that.

But it's entertaining enough that you can watch it all and have a decent time, similar to Need for Speed, Prince of Persia, Warcraft etc. It's an enjoyable action-adventure flick. And a lot of that has to do with Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft. I liked her portrayal of Lara, and I liked that the movie took its time to set her up at the start. Also, props to the movie for not including any actual romance, similar to the game.

The movie slows down a bit when you reach the Island, and I wasn't a fan of certain story elements there since I've played and loved the 2013 game and I believe the movie could have been more enjoyable if they went with a mysterious-adventure angle more and did less of action-adventure. And then there are moments that are just plain stupid. But there are some story bits I actually liked as it felt right for the movie.

The action scenes and CGI were inconsistent. Sometimes it all looked good, sometimes the CGI would be a bit off, and sometimes there would be too much cutting in an action scene even though Alicia Vikander did get down and dirty in them and didn't use a body double a whole lot and you can see clearly see the cutting is not being done to hide the stunt double, so WHY CUT IT THAT MUCH! WHY!? That was annoying for sure.

You get plenty of moments that are similar to the game but most of them are scaled down. Which I guess felt like watching a movie after reading the novel. It was kinda disappointing but at the same time, I still liked seeing them.

All in all, this is definitely one of the better video game adaptations we have gotten. Since I loved the 2013 game and I have played and enjoyed the older games during childhood, and have enjoyed the Angelina Jolie movies also during childhood, Lara Croft as Tomb Raider is one of those franchises that I've been with for a LONG TIME, so I obviously had more involvement with the movie. If you're in the same boat as me, chances are you'll have a good enough time if you keep your expectations in check. If you're new to Tomb Raider and just want to watch the movie, it's an enjoyable action-adventure flick, give it a go.

P.S Loved Nick Frost scenes. Hilarious.

Its not a proper fairy tale movie but, a movie based around that fairy tale. The movie itself is quite good with creepy kids running the show.

Batman Ninja.....avoid at all costs . wtf were they thinking ???..apart from the animation everything else was utter crap.

Nice movie but effects and camera tricks and editing made me enjoy this less :/ made me think it more of a sci-fi instead fantasy :/

BLACK PANTHER (2018)

"Great. Another broken white boy for us to fix." ~ Shuri

Shuri single handedly won me over. Female version of Tony Stark. And Just when you think Marvel can't outdo themselves with showing off technology, this movie comes along, and brings a sh*t load of jaw dropping stuff. The dangerous mind who thinks of this stuff

I had my doubts, but then really got deep into it. Good humor; out of nowhere jokes, and the action. Pretty well done. Car chases despite looking more like a Lexus Commercial, where rather exciting. And fight scenes, well ... this is one area where i genuinely think women did a far better job than men, in terms of 'looking cool and badass'. And talk about 'owning' their (fake?) accents lol. Not one, but 3 characters, especially that lady general, Okoye. She just nailed it so gooood.

Gorgeous scenery of Wakanda. And Killmonger, a bit of a sleeper? Too powerful? Well, certainly made everyone afraid. I kinda hoped his fight with T'Challa was a bit less dark and shaky. Seriously, really hard to see whatever they were doing near that Train.

Not gonna lie. Marvel movies make me excited every single time. And Black Panther was the first which genuinely surprised me. I get it now why it was a better performer than it's predecessors. 8/10. Worth every second of my time.

TOMB RAIDER (2018)

~"I'm sorry. I'm just not that kind of Croft."

I smiled at the low-key jab she took at 'those tit people' with that line. A rather different take than 2001's Angelina movie. Alicia Vikander needed 'great' shoes to fill; pun is definitely intended, if you know what i mean ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

A different take on Lara Croft's adventures, I like this movie because it's like an Origin Story for Lara's Character. Gone are the days where we never knew about the fate of Lara's father. And with this Trinity thing, the plot twist at the end actually made me smile. Got my interest.

Stunts are extremely well done. Alicia did a great job, and her hardwork shows itself. Locations are beautiful, and the puzzles, interesting. 'Plane jumping', 'parachute fall'; camerawork for some of the shots is magnificent. Freakin' HATE the dark scenes. That 'boat wrecking' moment and some 'inside tomb' moments were just cringe.

The new Tomb Raider is a roller coaster ride. It's not great, but it's not bad either. During those 2 hours, the one thing you genuinely appreciate, is Alicia Vikander's hard work. The movie itself, except for the twist at the end, is a bit boring, to say the least. But this is a franchise in the making. I expect great things to come. 7/10

saw "OCEANS 8" at cinestar today premeire day

Spoiler: show

well this movie had got a bunch of mixed reviews, i saw it and it felt a bit bland tbh, i mean no good soundtrack i think like in oceans 11 and so on while doing the schemes and stuff and only once or twice i heard the soundtrack. it felt boring a bit that way but by the end it was entertaining and i think that's what count's a bit. i saw the twist coming from afar though.. not a big shock value LOL

the actors here were top notch sadly they are only as good as teh script i guess.. which was fine but not great.

man cate blanchett and anne hathaway were shining i dunno why but on screen wow. anne hathaway was just a skinny girl but my my look at her mature. Nice :p

an ok spinoff to the trilogy of oceans. i guess they can now do a trilogy of this too with oceans 9 and oceans 10 lol

Rating: 7/10

PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING (2018)

5 years since the first movie, and 'Big Ass Monsters vs. Giant Robots' thing still feel as awesome, energetic, eye dazzling and drool worthy. Cool Jaeger names (Titan Redeemer, Gipsy Avenger, November Ajax, Valor Omega), Cool scenery, Cool CGI ... This franchise takes 'cool' to a whole new level. Still as flashy, feel good, eyegasm package.

Fun cast, with good chemistry. John Boyega overshadowed pretty much everyone. Hilarious. Dude's going places. Amara (Cailee Spaeny) is simply gorgeous AF. Mako, you got old in just 5 years? Lady, whatever happened to you. Short lives role. Makes sense. Well placed reveals (real villain). Charlie Day! Brave dude. Well played. But really felt the lack of charisma of Idris Elba.

But, despite all the fun i had, all the glory on screen, all the energy in action ... I couldn't avoid the lackluster feeling. Jaegers are shown as more advanced, yet constantly underwhelmed by the Kaijus, getting their metallic asses so badly kicked in every damn scene. Bad fight moves, bad team work; not once did it 'feel great'. Good feels, in many scenes. But could've been so much more exciting.

Whatever you may think, i prefer Uprising for a number of reasons. Primary reason being the CGI. First one was such an eye torture due to overly done effects. Half the time i couldn't see what was happening and who was fighting who. Now, it's just so much better, prettier and overall easier to see. (Attack on PPDC Base, Fight in Siberia, Yager Repairs after attack). 'Beauty is a burden', seems like it. lol.

I genuinely feel this is a brilliant sequel. But i wish it would have done better in action variety. 7/10. Still fun, still entertaining, still 100% recommended.

last night i went to see Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom at IMAX. i like how the story changed from one way to a different ending. in the trailers they gave a different impression of story line. indominus rex in last movie was more scary i think because of its size as it was based on t-rex. still a good flick 8/10 from my side.

Those who are going to watch it, wait for the post credits scene. i didn't expected a post credit scene like marvel/DC so walked out as the credits started but i have read that there is 1 post credit in this movie too.

POWER RANGERS (2017)

~Krispy Kreme - The source of life itself is buried there.

Ain't that the truth :D. YEAH DOUGHNUTS.

Gold Digger Elizabeth Banks is fun. I can see why she was constantly smiling. Because all this Power Ranger shizz was a bit too much to take seriously, lol. I hate to admit it, but i anticipated it to be really really bad. But it was entertaining. Some really fun scenes: 'Inside car scene at beginning, Abuses will lead to ban slap to bully, Megazord reveal, and Rita at jewelry shop'. Plus, that funny black dude, and Alpha 5 bot was keeping everything alive with light humor and energetic performances.

For a 2 hour long movie, it's a bit too long. The real thing begins after 1 hour and 20 minutes. It's a hardcore PG13. Not even a hint of romance, let alone swear words. Pretty much a kids movie. So just drop down to that level and entertain yourself. Thankfully, it was never boring. I liked it, and enjoyed it. 6/10.
