Saw 2 back to back shows at cinepax on Saturday.

Ready Player One (3D): Gamers will love this movie as they showed a lot of famous gaming characters and I didn’t count how many references i’ve seen because there were to many even older ones like battle toads. Protagonist character looked like Lee Chaolan. Great visuals particularly that race scene and it should be watched in 3D. they handled real world and oasis very well. Good acting, favorable story and fine music 8.5/10.

A Quite Place: Saw hundreds of movies in cinema but never saw a that much silent / quite movie ever. It’s all about surviving. It was 1 hour 35-minute-long movie and that time passed in a jiffy I don’t know if the movie was that tense and intriguing or it was too short. I wanted to see more of it. Acting was superb Emily blunt and John Krasinski were great 8/10.

Review:
Well the name says everything. This movie is a fine piece of adventure so if you are looking for some adventure and something like jumanji this one is for you. The story is as bad as it usually is in such movies but watching giant bees and small elephants is really some fun. for me this movie is a good time pass and have some very good looking scenes. In the first part the graphics weren't good at all but in this one there is clearly a improvement in the graphics of the movie.

Spoiler: show

so finally got time to watch this movie, it's getting some good reviews and hype. i saw the movie and i could see what the hype was about

some good direction and even though just 1 hour 30mins it gave out some remarkable acting from the actors. small budgeted movie by the looks but man oh man good thrill and acting

for some it could be slow but for me it was all the build up and such which made it all the worth while by the end. a sequel is all or more likely for this.

written and directed by john krasinski the actor in this movie quite well man. emily blunt a great actor indeed. awesome in here.

ATOMIC BLONDE (2017)

~"I'm my own Abuses will lead to ban now!"

Astonishing, extremely stylish, beautifully shot, remarkable action, and the freakin' AMAZING closeups of Charlize Theron's face. This lady just pulled a John Wick with sheer class of her own. The ONE scene, which won every single bits of love from my heart, those 15 or so minute 'single shot' scene, cold blooded, vicious 'stair way action sequence', will be remembered as cult classes for years to come.

James McAvoy's crazy is pretty crazy. "You should see my balls. Then you'd be really impressed!". Funny sucker, i tell ya. Music is so 80's, yet so mesmerizing. The screen art keeps the tone mild, when sh*t's not going haywire. The suspense is engaging, right upto the moments of 'triple' revelations; yep, didn't expect that. It's a slow burn, but kept me entertained till the very end.

Similarities in action is rather brilliant. David Leitch. That's why. This guy tops the list of action from John Wick. Massive props to him. Spy stuff is well done. But what i absolutely love, is the fact that low budget movies like these, are like a Abuses will lead to ban slap to extremely high budget fiasco from Marvel or even DC. Theron, even at this age, can rock the screen with her massive presence. I would kill to have her do more hand to hand combat like in this one, because this is by far the most amazing performance i have ever seen from her. 8/10. More Atomic Blonde, PLEASEEEE.

Annihilation (2018)

Don't you just love the feeling of watching a great sci-fi film where you just stare at the screen after the movie has ended, deep in contemplation, mind racing at the speed of light, just trying to figure out what in the hell did you just watch? Whelp, Annihilation did just that.

The film is about an Anomaly where an area is engulfed in a shimmer, and a team of scientists is sent in to investigate. I'm gonna keep it vague cause honestly it's best to let this film blow your mind with as little info as possible.

The film really nailed the mystery/curiosity aspect of its Sci-Fi plot. From the very first scene, I was interested in seeing what the Anomaly is, and as the movie went on, I was deeply engrossed by it, and that pace was kept till the end, by which point I was losing my mind and tripping out in the best possible way. My mind was racing with possibilities. The sci-fi plot was simply Brilliant.

Add all that with the beautiful visuals and CGI which this movie had no shortage of, and the hauntingly beautiful score, and it is an almost complete package. All of that particularly comes together perfectly in the third act. JUST WOW!

I say almost because if there was one thing this movie could have worked on, it was the characters. Apart from Natalie Portman, who gave a
great performance by the way, I didn't really care for or got attached to any of the others. They were serviceable, but the team as a whole could have been improved a lot.

Overall, one of the best sci-fi films I've seen in recent times. Alex Garland (Director) not only shows once again his knack for Sci-Fi (the first film being Ex Machina) but also how far he can take it. Kinda reminded me of how I felt when I first watched Denis Villeneuve's 'Arrival'. It's kinda in the same league, and it is one of those sci-fi films where the pacing is slow and it creeps up on you. So keep that in mind, prepare your brain to be overloaded, and give this a watch.

I'll be rewatching it to understand it properly.

The Babysitter (2017)

The only reason I found this film was because of Stranger Things and all those Steve as a Babysitter memes. So glad I did, though.

What an absurdly hilarious movie. It's about a kid who decides to spy on his Babysitter one night and things take an unexpected turn. I'll just leave it at that because that is all I knew before watching it, and that just made the experience all the more fun.

From the start, the movie had this energy and momentum thanks to the way it was edited and shot, it was well-done. It also elevated the comedy. Kinda reminded me of Edgar Wright and how his movies have that energy (not on that level, of course).

The actors did a great job in their respective roles. Judah Levis as the kid and Samara Weaving as the babysitter (who was sizzling HOT by the way) in particular were both awesome. They had nice chemistry together.

There were some scenes towards the last act which went on a bit too long and the cheesy acting+humor in a few areas didn't work for me.

But all in all, directed by McG, it was a pleasant surprise. It's simply a ton of ridiculous fun. The movie knows what it is, what it wants and it sticks to that. It's short (only 1 hour and 20 mins), so if you're in a mood for a quick fun session, give it a go. I know I kept things vague but that is how I experienced it and I honestly would not have had the level of fun I had while watching this if I had known what this movie was about and had seen the trailer etc.

So yeah, DO NOT WATCH THE TRAILER! Trust me, I just did before reviewing this movie and it ruins one of the best moments in the movie, and like me, if you don't know anything about the movie, it ruins the surprise factor as well.

@Spartan 117 dont think theres much to understand for annihilation except the end,
Spoiler: show
the new species prevailed.
Trust me, there is much to understand in Annihilation if you go deeper. It has layers.

It's a great sci-fi film on its literal face-value alone, but the deeper concepts and meanings that it represented and the multiple interpretations you can come up with is interesting stuff.

I mean it was fun, but boy did that fun come at a price. That price being, bad acting, terrible dialogue, cringe worthy humor and irritating characters.
