Digging up an almost two year old tweet, looks like fans of ND did pay attention (y)

Anyway, TLoU 2 is probably one of the most unlikely games to try and pick apart for game design owing to the incredible variety of things which would comprise 'game design', but every youtuber has their opinion and a platform to post it on :sneaky:

Anthony Newman and Kurt Margenau are better co-directors than Bruce Straley. Haters may want to pay attention to that lol.
Did anyone even post a nakiejakie thing in the RDR2 topic ? I have absolutely no idea...

considering we got a meme but no links, seems like its an incredibly important channel for PG now 🤷‍♂️

Probably because I shared Bruce's tweet in the RDR2 thread, in which he praises this Nakie person's criticism of the linear structure of the game's missions. Had no idea back then that this guy's a white supremacist.

Almost 60% of the player base finished the game. This is the highest for any PS4 game to date.
Now 60%.

This is incredible, you don't see completion rates this high for almost any game.

People who start this game really don't like to put it down until finishing it.

I mean the game has a pretty terrible cutscene to gameplay ratio and it's a linear adventure to boot. Makes it easier for the casual crowd to finish it.

The thing about the game's story is that it doesn't take a nosedive up until the last few minutes of the game, so ofcourse by then people who have already invested 18hrs+ in a game for a story that progressed good have no choice but to keep on going until the end, it is only after the end scene do they know what happened, hence the higher completion rate...IMO

Tremendous achievement, especially since this is around twice the length of a usual Naughty Dog game.

60% is massive for a lengthy single player game. I think level design and gameplay has something to do with it as well, as it is engaging and diverse. And, of course, the narrative. Like it or not, it is kinda imposing and you do feel like unravelling it to see what happens next. More people want to experience it than any other PS4 game (especially the favourites of some critics). Can't blame them. 🤷‍♂️

I mean .. this is a crock of bullshit, but A for effort :p

This is more accurate but still.

If you want to make bogus claims like a 'linear adventure' and 'cut-scene to game play ratio' etc, it doesn't get as linear as Life is Strange, however only 27% of owners have finished the story .. and LiS is only a 6 to 8 hour game.

TLoU 2 is just an incredible, engrossing game.

jrpgs are not small, and this is a 1.5x re-release of an already mammoth game

  • SolitarySoldier SolitarySoldier:
But I maxed her out till the ongoing story. Called her 'services'. Wonder where that will lead. :p

im legit glad you're enjoying the big time commitment on the game

Kasumi has been a promising character for now. Looking forward to more of her.

Hawai bhi ghoom liya. That was a nice little distraction

  • SolitarySoldier SolitarySoldier:
Not really. But I do want to complete the full story.

  • Chandoo Chandoo:
are you playing for the platinum trophy ?
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
you need to see the entire story + epilogue through. It's well worth the 60 to 80 hours
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
Kasumi's story arc will go places you literally cannot imagine right now, take my word for it :p that's why making sure you get to the Royal arc is really important if you've already invested that much time :p

  • SolitarySoldier SolitarySoldier:
Yeah, Kasumi persona awakened and then she was like yeah, nah, I'm gonna do gymnastics instead. :p
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
I was hoping they would make Haruka be a party member, or have more story, sooner because in the base game she comes in way too late to have any meaningful story development.
    Link
  • SolitarySoldier SolitarySoldier:
Oh, I'm cool then. Also, Morgana leaving the team for a bit was sad. :p
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
same with Kasumi, it may feel like her link has ended but it goes a few more steps in the Royal portion of the game
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
so if the game is literally not letting you do it, it means you've maxed out the current tier so far as you can

  • Chandoo Chandoo:
once you reach a certain point with him, you have to wait till the main story goes past a point before you can progress with him

It just keeps saying that the bond will not grow. Wonder if some stat upgrade is required or it'll open up with the story
    Link
  • SolitarySoldier SolitarySoldier:
Yeah, the counsellor upgrade is pending but I got some time to do that
    Link
  • SolitarySoldier SolitarySoldier:
Cool. Good stuff is coming along though. I liked Futaba's story and character development. Haru isn't bad either.

  • Chandoo Chandoo:
hopefully you're on the road to unlock the Royal content after the base games ending
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
    its a lot more straightforward
    Link
  • Chandoo Chandoo:
i won't say anything on the matter :p but i'll just say the twist isn't as surprising as Persona 4's killer reveal was
